The last of the JM masterpieces, I think this song needs a thread of its own (I couldn't find one)
Appreciate it here, folks!
To start off the thread, I appreciate the solo at the end :metal
-
God tier instrumental bits.
-
The first DT song I fell in love with. Amazing. The outro gets me every time.

This song made me buy everything.
-
it is a great "sing-along-with-as-if-you-sounded-like-James-LaBrie-even-though-your-voice-stinks" song
-
It's a cool song definetely! At first I didn't appriciate it that much, then I sat down and tried to play it on guitar :omg: the rest is history
-
I love it! Definitively in my DT top 10, and my fav on SFAM.
-
From 6:00 to the end is probably one of the best drumming performances ever laid down on record.
*appreciates*
-
I didn't get into it as much as others straight away because I really didn't like some of the vocal melodies in the verses.
I love the song now though, the ending instrumental is one of the best bits of the album / DT in general.
Home and possibly Beyond This Life are ones I like better on the album.

Me too! When I heard it, it was like a bomb went off and I had to have anything and everything related to DT.

Both of these.

Great song. It's in my top 10 DT songs for sure.

I love this song, probably 1st or 2nd from that album for me. Musically, it's just really fabulous.
I know it counts as a JM song lyrically, but that doesn't really matter to me in this case, since he was just fitting it into the story of the album.

Fatal Tragedy = :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal
In the right hand I have a massive organ :metal :metal :metal someone give me a goatee metal emoticon please?
-
I had no idea it was a JM song. That's pretty rad.

Overrated, but still great.
-
Loving the nasty bass tone on this song. It took me a few listens to notice that tasty bass solo at the end.
-
Love this song. Once it picks up with the instrumental, it's easily in my top 5 DT songs.
-
Obviously the JP solo rules and I love the vocal harmonies. :metal
-
Great tune
-
Definitely best on album by far. This seems to be the only "Solid" song on the album, aside from Overture 1928.
-
This song, and SFAM in general, in my opinion, represent the last time when DT's, "crazy instrumental sections" actually fit the song and weren't just vehicles to demonstrate how fast they can play.
-
This was the first DT song I heard with vocals. It blew me away, made me purchase SFAM and the rest of DT's catalog shortly after. Phenomenal song.

Maybe, but I think that the sections in Blind Faith, 6DoIT, and TCoT all fit pretty well.
-
Fantastic song, very catchy, one of my favorites on SFAM. The last minute is too epic. :metal
-
It makes Beyond This Life look good... Enough said.

I think he means Beyond This Life sucks.

I'd never listen to Beyond This Life just like that... Fatal Tragedy flows into Beyond This Life so well, that I don't need to skip it on the CD and I actually enjoy the two together better than each of them itself.
-
Fatal Tragedy is awesome, my fave on Scenes except for possibly Overture 1928. Also quite possibly their greatest ever solo tradeoff/unison performance.
-
The best instrumental DT has ever done. That first keyboard riff in the instrumental is the Ruddess riff for me. It's just so full of dark POWAH!!!!!
