Technically, you're right. But I usually forget the quotes for song titles.
Yeah, I used to not do that it that way either, and really, that is very forgivable.
However, every time I read the Rush
Contents Under Pressure book, I want to strangle the author. He put all of the song titles in italics (WRONG) and merely bolded the album titles (WRONG).
What are the rules for capitalization? Are you supposed to capitalize the first letter of everything or are you suppose to leave works like "the", "a" or "and" lower case? I see it done both ways so I've never known which is correct.
Those should be lower case, unless they are the first or last word of a song or album title.
And prepositions are interesting in that they should be lower case if they are four letters or less EXCEPT if part of a two-word phrase. To explain that, "Carry On" is a two-word phrase, so "on" would be capitalized in "Carry On Wayward Son." Make sense?
