Yep, Chardonnay is a white. Other common whites are Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chablis. Common reds are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Shiraz/Syrah, and Zinfandel (not to be confused with White Zinfandel which is confusingly not a white but rather a blush [kinda the grey area of wine-color classification.])
