So I have been around for a few months now and I don't recall posting in this thread before. I don't travel out of the General Music forum that often.
I am 35 and live in Texas after spending 11 years in North Carolina. Originally from Alabama. Music has always been a huge part of my life as I grew up singing in church choirs etc, and started playing trumpet and piano fairly young as well. I sang in high school choirs and went to all-state every year and eventually got a vocal scholarship to college where I was part of some amazing musical moments vocally. And I started playing trumpet in church orchestras during this time as well and have played with some pretty awesome instrumentalists doing some very complicated charts over the years. Lots of fun stuff!! Sometime in the latter part of high school and through college I began playing bass in a band that did mostly Christian rock covers (Third Day, DC Talk, Audio Adrenaline, etc) and few originals as well. As with most bands of this nature, we eventually went our separate ways, although I count those times as some of the most fun in my life.
My musical tastes have run pretty wide over the years from jazz to classical to death metal to prog to country to . . . well, you get the idea. I will wait for my turn in the top 50 thread to give you my favorite bands so as not to spoil anything (as if anyone cares).
