Hey Brent... just a reminder that most of us here in this thread come at our Melodic/AOR from a different angle than your country-mate.  Disagreeing with Blob's musical tastes means you're doing it right.   :lol

Personally, I'm not such an audiophile that I can hear the stuff you guys are referring to.  Hell, I convert my library to 128kbps so that it can all fit on my iPhone.  An album has to be really bad - like Vapour Trails, or Queensryche's last album - before the production quality detracts from my enjoyment of it.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad

At Chad's age I doubt there's much of anything above 16kHz that he could hear anyway. :lol

But 128kbps is just nasty.

Shithouse production too.........and I know that riff .  :-\   Sounds like something Bret Michaels would do.

Bloody hell. Their last album sounded a million bucks. This... doesn't. Last album had some great lyrics too.
The last one was a great rock album. This song is ok, not great. Shit production aside (and the whispering gets on my tits). Lesson in how to kill those harmonies.

What? The production is easily better than 99% of the albums mentioned in this thread.
Song was decent, although hopefully not one of the best on the album. Lightning Strikes Twice was so damn amazing, I'll give this the benefit of the doubt for now.

For my listening purposes, 128 suits me just fine.  For the most part, I listen to music through my laptop - either on my earbuds, or a very basic 2.1 speaker system.  At that point, I'm listening either at 256, or 320.

If I burn albums on a wma cd for the car, I usually put them on at 128, just so I can fit more albums on the cd.  In the car, I can't tell the difference to be honest.

The compressed cymbals of 128kbps audio is very noticeable.

I can somewhat agree with this, but it can depend on the original production IMO.

Save Yourself is by far the best of the McCauley Schenker albums. Certainly the heaviest. I would also say that it is the loosest that Schenker's playing is, and I find it really enjoyable.
