Title: Genesis Survivor 2012 - Duke (Round 1)
Post by: The Letter M on May 17, 2012, 07:48:57 AM
Duke
Behind The Lines
Duchess
Guide Vocal
Man Of The Times
Misunderstanding
Heathaze
Turn It On Again
Alone Tonight
Cul-De-Sac
Please Don't Ask
Duke's Travels
Duke's End

One of the band's finest Collins-Era albums, and the beginning of the downward slope for them (IMO), but this album is pretty damn good front-to-back.

-Marc.

My favorite Genesis album.  Incredibly consistent, still one foot firmly in prog, and they hadn't given in to the dark side yet.

Misunderstanding.  Yeah, you read that right.  Boring and repetitive.

Wow, it's going down.  I thought people actually liked that song, but I see that I have plenty of company.

Not even close.   Misunderstanding.    As a matter of fact, it was Misunderstanding that prevented me from checking out this otherwise stellar album for the longest time.   I've grown more tolerant of it over the years...some "singles" sound better in the context of a good album than they do on their own.   Still, it was 'meh' to begin with, and then grossly overplayed on top of that.
