I gave this album a listen just now. I have not been this blown away by an album from just my first time listening to it in a very long time. I think the last time that happened was with Transatlantic's Bridge Across Forever, which I first listened to back in 2020. Out of Monograph's 13 songs, there are only two or three that I'd rate lower than a 9/10 based off my first listen. There's a surprising amount of variety with this album. Some of the songs started with me thinking, "It's good, nothing special," and then something comes out of left field that wows me. Waltz of Knives has one of the greatest sections I've experienced in a song in quite a while. I know in the past I've said "this album will probably be one of my all-time favorites after repeated listens" about a few albums, but I
know I'm going to feel this way about Monograph. I'm not sure who here would enjoy this album nearly as much as I do, but if my short first impression review of this album has piqued your interest in the slightest, I strongly recommend you give it a listen.
