I gave this album a listen just now. I have not been this blown away by an album from just my first time listening to it in a very long time. I think the last time that happened was with Transatlantic's Bridge Across Forever, which I first listened to back in 2020. Out of Monograph's 13 songs, there are only two or three that I'd rate lower than a 9/10 based off my first listen. There's a surprising amount of variety with this album. Some of the songs started with me thinking, "It's good, nothing special," and then something comes out of left field that wows me. Waltz of Knives has one of the greatest sections I've experienced in a song in quite a while. I know in the past I've said "this album will probably be one of my all-time favorites after repeated listens" about a few albums, but I know I'm going to feel this way about Monograph. I'm not sure who here would enjoy this album nearly as much as I do, but if my short first impression review of this album has piqued your interest in the slightest, I strongly recommend you give it a listen.

I don't think it's as good as Future Nostalgia was, but it's still pretty solid. Apparently the guy from Tame Impala co-produced/co-wrote some of it

I just sampled a few songs. Not totally my cup of tea but some cool stuff is in there. I'll try and give it some more listens because some ideas in there really sounded unique.

I gave it a quick listen at work the day it came out. I haven’t had a chance to follow up with a dedicated listen. I like some of their stuff.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Wheel - Charistmatic Leaders.

Another step of from their last one which I liked a lot. This one has more dynamic songwriting, is a bit heavier and is packed with great melodies and interesting riffs.

It’s not as good as Future Nostalgia for sure but I still like it a lot and find the RYM rating pretty ridiculous.

Chad tried to get me into these guys and they just didn't click.  I actually purchased two of their albums cheap.  Maybe I'll dig them out one day.

Tesla is excellent.

I always called them a 70's band with an 80's production. Those original first 4 albums are amazing. Kind of in the Aerosmith/UFO vein. In fact they do an excellent version of Rock Bottom.

Maybe that's why they didn't stick.  I think on a whole they sounded really quite good and professional with great performances but just didn't stick.  As I said, will have to try again.

I think they deserved to be bigger.
