^Agreed. The reason Symphony X is releasing the less-proggy songs first is the same reason DT released A Rite of Passage first instead of The Count of Tuscany.

Yeah this makes perfect sense to me

I think you can preview/pre-order all the songs on iTunes too.

I didn't listen though because I already listen to The End of Innocence and Dehumanized many many many times.
I don't want to listen to too much before my pre-order arrives in the week of June 14  :metal

Probably just a logo for Iconoclast; I'm pretty sure that's what it says directly underneath it.

1:30 samples of all tracks (including the three that are only on double disc) are apparently up on iTunes, although mine only has 30 second ones.

Trying not to listen to them though, especially Iconoclast - that's the song on that video above and it sounds like it's going to be awesome. Want to hear it for the first time in full.

Yeah I saw the 1:30 samples on iTunes but I am trying my best to not listen to them...

1:30 for each track is a pretty long sample in my opinion :)

I love Symphony x but  between the released tunes and the samples it sounds like rehashed paridise lost /Dio tribute to me

I haven't heard the samples but that seems like a really strange comment.

Those are the correct track lengths, promo copies given out to media do not include the second disc.

Pretty sure they did digital promos this time to cut down on leak potential. I don't know the whole story, but it's unlikely to leak.

They're all digital, and they come with a number encrypted in the files that can be traced back to the person who the label sent the file to. Which is why the leaks are happening less and less.

Yeah, that. Similar things happened with the new Devin Townsend albums, but they leaked anyway.

Praise tha lord!

I'm listening to the Itunes samples right now. So far it's what I have expected. Usually for each SX album the majority is good but nothing memorable type songs, and there's the few amazing ones that I adore. I don't listen to many SX songs, but the ones I do listen to, I'm completely in love with them. So far I can already tell that the great songs of this album are going to be...

-Inconoclast (an epic)
-The End of Innocence
-Dehumanized
-When All Is Lost (an epic)
-Reign In Madness (an epic)

Prometheus is also really fun.

"When All Is Lost" – 9:10
"Reign In Madness" – 8:37

So along with Iconoclast, there's 3 decent sized epics in this album.

So far, I actually like the second disk better than the first.

Glad I'm not the only one  :tup  Most of my favourite songs on the album (Electric Messiah, Prometheus, Reign in Madness) are on disc 2.

Incidentally, I posted my review of the album here :https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=23603.280

Dark Master:

Very good job with the review.

I bought both the single and deluxe editions; I agree the three songs on disc 2 are excellent.  I also agree that it is missing a pure ballad; this is something that SX has done very well in the past with.  Just a minor complaint, as again, I am really enjoying Iconoclast
