New Tolkki project video - even with the sound down and the hot chick , this cannot be saved  :lol   One of Frontiers' worst ever projects and videos to boot.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l8MnwcPoCs&feature=youtu.be

Absolute fucking garbage.

Tolkki is a cancer to any project he writes.  The two minutes I listened to this were drier than a popcorn fart.  Anything with him is a guaranteed non-purchase for me now.

It is hard to believe that a guy responsible for an album in my Top 50 is churning out this crap - although props for taste in women I suppose.  I get the feeling he fancies himself as a modern day Desmond Child or something .

It's been more than a decade since he wrote something that wasn't completely bland, hasn't it? I've lost all hope that he will ever release something original ever again.

Agree.  I find it hard to believe as Chad said that anything he does now is an instant non purchase, and that's quite the case.

 :rollin

He plays guitar and sings.  The album Siren is a great slab of AOR.  Great songs, nothing mindblowing but good.

Paul..........an answer to your question re my thoughts on the new Trixter.

I think it's okay - probably better than I expected.  I was right to be concerned when I saw song titles like Rocking To The Edge of the Night and Crash That Party - I thought the first few tracks were weak/too cliche , but it picked up from there into a solid album with some more mature song writing and a couple of very good tracks.

I would give it around 75% - a bit more if you allow the bonus tracks (although Always a Victim ain't a great choice to do acoustically if you ask me).  To me it's got a bit of Danger Danger's Revolve about it but just not near as good.

Yeah, those vocals were weak, and those melodies are awful, both due to writing and performance. They need to choose female singers based on talent, instead of whether they'll make a good album cover.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.

Saw this on mr.com.  A band featuring the Wig Wam singer, Erik and Robbin from Eclipse and Hal Patino.

Not sure if you pimped them Bretn as looks like the album came out at the start of the year.  Generic as fuck and pretty much just sounds like Eclipse, but I might check the album out.

It was mentioned by me but there weren't no pimpin' goin' on ma homey  ;D

We didn't all agree on it.  I gave it 71% and thought it was just okay - if memory serves correct Paul thought it was much better than that.

Outside of a few tracks on their debut I have never been a big fan of the Bulletboys but I thought I would check out their new album as it's getting plenty of positive press.  It's a pleasant album if you feel like some raw, laid back bluesy rock and Torien can still sing,  but that's about it.  At least it doesn't sound like everything else ....75%

Just listening to the Beauvoir Free album and I'm liking it. Its got more of a 70s rock vibe than Crown Of Thorns but pretty solid so far.

Solid ,as you say.  I have always liked Jean's voice - very unique to have a black guy singing that style and so he's quite unique.  Decent songs with a couple of standouts.  Not up there with the debut CoT or Lost Cathedral but one of their better efforts.   I often find myself wishing for a decent lead player when I listen to Micki Free.

This new House of Lords isn't bad.  Jimi is on fire and his lead tones are less harsh and sound fantastic.  It's similar to the last one with less heavy moments again and it's a bit of a grower also, but some solid tunes here.

I thought the HoL was their best in some time - the first half is quite a bit stronger than the second but there's very little in the way of filler.

Seems like they have changed their style quite a bit.  They just have a fresh and different sound.  I wouldn't mind some heavy stuff again, but, it's nicely produced and some great songs on here.  100mph, Call My Bluff, Go to Hell and Another Dawn are my highlights, but yeah nothing really here that would be classed as filler.
