Someone tried to scam me today. I'm selling a guitar on Gumtree and I got an email about it asking the condition of it etc.

I didn't suspect anything at this point so i went along with it then they asked for my Paypal so they could send the funds.

Then they said " the funds are in your paypal account plus £320 for you to send it to France. Which you have to pay yourself via MoneyGram at your local Post Office

to a courier before the £450 for the guitar is released. "

They even sent a fake paypal email - which looked VERY genuine with a screenshot showing the transfer of funds. But when I checked my actual account on actual

Paypal - there was nothing so I phoned PayPal myself and they said no funds were being held and that Paypal never ask people to send money elsewhere to "release"

funds. So I emailed everything to their fraud department and stopped replying to the scammer.

I checked online and a few other people have had similar experiences of being "paid" the amount they want plus up to £400 extra for courier fee - which they have

to pay upfront in order to get the funds reimbursed.

Luckily for me - alarm bells went off immediately and I first sent everything to my Dad who obviously said don't send anything to anyone. i then checked with the

local Post Office who said they'd never heard of such a transaction via PayPal and finally Paypal themselves to report everything.

Bizarre old day today.

Not this time. There was nothing about the actual emails that was fishy. No obvious bad spelling or anything. It all sounded pretty genuine right up until

It has it's dry moments. When my boss wanted to get T-shirts and asked me for a good idea for a slogan to put on the back of the shirt, I told him Certified Lawn Irrigation Technician. He didn't appreciate that. Neither did the secretary.

My grandparents are visiting on the weekend, plus I'm singing a service in a local church with my choir. Looking forward to both things - even though I'm not religious, I like singing and it'll be interesting to actually witness my first ever service!

I didn't go that high tech. It has removable plates and can hold 5 burgers. We use it more in the winter when I can't grill. I think we paid in the $50's for it.
