I'm guessing no, but do you think any of these shows will sell out?

They're playing small venues, and Anthony Green is relatively big name in his corner of the music world.  The last time The Dear Hunter and Anthony Green toured together (w/ Envy on the Coast) was in December of '07, and at least one of those shows (the Long Island show) sold out, which I know because I tried to get a ticket and got shut down at the door and ended up missing it :'(.   The Dear Hunter also sold out a string of shows on their last headlining tour (6 or 7 in a row), so considering all that, I wouldn't be at all surprised if at least some of these shows sell out.

Aren't The Dear Hunter touring America 24/7?

Pretty much

Come to Europe already!  :\

They really want to.  They just can't afford it yet.

You going to the CT show Chris?

And TDH isn't just an opening act, correct?

I *think* TDH is the opener and AG is the headliner, but it's possible that it's a co-headlining show.  Although it seems the only way to get tickets is to pre-order the new AG album, so that would lead me to think TDH might be opening.  I assume they'll be getting a decent set length though.  Not sure about CT.  It's a Friday night, so it's a possibility...

So there's no way to get a ticket if you don't want one of his albums?
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

Yeah, that's really lame.

I'll do my best to go to the Dallas show regardless.

My Color Spectrum boxset finally arrived today and it's gorgeous! I love the booklet, especially the way Casey has added retrospective notes with his thoughts on each disc. I only skimmed through some of them but they seem really fascinating, will definitely give them a thorough read.

Ultimate playlist for introducing new fans to The Dear Hunter.  Compiled collectively by the TDH forum after much agonizing discussion, debate and revision.

Kind of odd to open with We've got a Score to Settle, I think, since it's not very representative of much of their other material.  Good selections overall, though!

We originally just put it in chronological order, but then we decided it would be better if we tried to set it up so that you could listen to it beginning to end and it would flow as a stand-alone album/playlist (We're also making hard copies to hand out to friends/potential fans etc.).  We put it first mostly just because it seemed like a good, energetic way to start things off.  It was either that or "He Said He Had A Story".

After we picked the songs, I went through countless different potential track orderings before finally settling on this one.  I literally spent hours just listening and re-arranging until finally landing on the best flow.

My parents just ordered it. They said it looked like a fairly big box on the site.

I'm not sure I'll ever bother try getting into TCS again. I'll just wait for Act IV...

I don't know what it is, but I've got 5 listens on the first couple of EPs, but I always give up by Red. Violet I do enjoy, white too, but far less than Act II etc. I might not even have heard the middle EPs, I'm not too sure.

Most of the songs just feel so.. demoy and sparse, giving off a real taint of unfinished sketches.

When don't you listen to them in order? Also I think TCS is a solid release.

TCS is awesome

But I notice I only listen to one or two eps at a time, i rarely listen to the whole thing all the way through in one sitting

TCS is absolutely amazing but I have never listened to the whole thing one sitting. I don't know what the obsession on this forum is with needing to be able to do that before you can rate a cd??

I put the 36 songs on three separate playlists as if I had actually purchased three cd's and I think that's the best way to do it.

There's so much good material on there it would be a shame if someone writes it off because they find it too long.

Now he is dressing this naked floor with his flesh and blood, and time passes by. His trade of pain might just have lead him to deal with consequence for some change as time passes by"

TDH is one of my favorite bands but it took me months to get into TCS. If you're getting overwhelmed trying to listen to it all in one sitting I'd suggest trying to get into individual EPs, one or two at a time - it worked for me. After liking Indigo from the start, it took me ages to get into the others until I decided to focus on Yellow and Green. After those clicked I went for another two and so on. Give it a shot, if you like the Acts I'm sure you will end up liking TCS too (at least most of the colors).

I usually just start with whatever EP I feel like and listen until I have to do something else or want to listen to something else. Sometimes that means I hear all of it, sometimes that means I only hear a few songs. Never really gave it any thought.

This. I've grown to like and appreciate it more, of course, but on the first listen I already knew it would be a top contender for my album of the year. And at that point I wasn't really even a big TDH fan

The only one I still have trouble with is Violet, and only because it sounds so much like TDH's other stuff.
