Dream Theater / Re: In Defense of James LaBrie: A Manifesto

I don't care if he talks his way through the verses...

I don't know...I think I'd almost rather hear LaBrie sing at his current ability than use the David Lee Roth method.

Going tonight in Amsterdam  :metal

Dude, I've just seen the setlist for tonight. Holy shit, that is a good set! Only song I'd really want to change is Pleura. Closing with the Han-tyumi and the Murder of the Universe Suite as well  :metal

I've seen them live the last few times they've come through and honestly JLB sounded fine for the shows and he's not what detracted from the shows IMO. It was how freaking LOUD Petrucci's guitar was and has been. It renders JMX all but useless and even took away from MM as he seemed turned down. I really hope that gets addressed because it was/is out of hand.

The guitar was very loud when I saw them last June. I'm definitely wearing earplugs next time I see them.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen “And You And I” cited as the best prog song before.

General Discussion / Re: "Do Not Disturb" phone mode
« Last post by Nekov on Today at 03:07:07 PM »
Not related to DND, but on the subject of Galaxy S (S10 in my case), my phone has been randomly apologizing to me for the last week. For no reason whatsoever "I'm sorry, I don't understand." Even in the wee hours when there's no noise to even confuse it. It wouldn't be so bad if it would apologize for meaningful things. Things that might make me feel better. "Hey dude, sorry about the hair," or "oof, it's four in the morning, my bad." It's always "I don't understand," which I guess is kind of funny in an existential crisis sort of way, but still annoying as hell.
Had this same issue a few weeks back. I had to deactivate the google app to stop it from happening. Nothing else worked

1 - Turn Of The Century

All three are on the list, but TGOD almost didn't make it.  I'm not really a fan, and it's very much salvaged by the "Soon" section .

And You And I is a beautiful song; often cited as the "best" prog song I think is a LITTLE much, but it's still marvelous and a wonder to behold live.

Heart Of The Sunrise is just amazing and is the song that first got me into Yes, if memory serves.  I didn't really get into GFTO until later; my first album was Classic Yes, and it was a fistfight between "Heart Of The Sunrise" and "Starship Trooper" as to what was the best song.
