No I don't think anything been's confirmed. 11am EST has been assumed, but that's only based on past announcements.

I imagine 11AM Eastern time. But that's just based on when things have previously gone live.

Pretend to break you leg and call in sick.

My two problems are actually listening to it at work (not too big of an issue)

and the fact that I am working with my supervisor tomorrow. Meaning less room to fuck off.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Then I'd be stuck training the guy he is going to be training. Meaning still no room to fuck around. :lol

it's 2013 you guys, the split happened 6 years ago.

I honestly don't know why this back and forth is still a thing lol
Just to answer this, the people commenting on it are, almost entirely, new users who probably have no idea about the history between our two sites. You're not reading anything to do with the history, just new users commenting on their first experiences of 5/8 because some people have been referring to noxon's comments over there.

I was supposed to be working with a new employee in my group at work tomorrow and showing him the ropes but turns out he's not starting until the next week, now! Meaning I should have plenty of time to stop and listen to this glorious new single whenever it gets online :D

So is any European/Rest of World single announcement been made yet? Or will it be available elsewhere for us officially?

idk you tell me lmao

I'm not saying some of the quotes aren't mental, cos some are, (although just as many boil down to "OH MY DAYS THEY LIKE THE MUSIC OF THEIR FAVOURITE BAND how incredible,") but it's a bit rich to play coy when it's mostly your website not only perpetuating but actually sanctioning it.

I don't have anything against your website. I post here, and I don't post there, but it's fine - you have a community that seems to enjoy its own company, ace. I just think it's pretty brazenly hypocritical to go "oh my god yeah what's all this rivalry about?" when it's largely swept under the carpet here, and tacitly endorsed there.

Dunno why anyone would want to go anywhere near 5/8 in the first place. I feel like I lose brain cells every time I visit.

I can understand a forum designed just for entertainment purposes, but seriously? I just spent 5 minutes there. I imagine the average age on that forum is somewhere just north of 12 years old.

No thank you. I take this band very seriously, even though I have fun listening and joking around about some aspects, I respect their abilities as far greater musicians than I could ever dream of being. The amount of immaturity on 5/8 is really disappointing.

Different strokes for different folks. :dunno:

Yes, we're so much more mature here :lol

Absolutely agreed. I just can't stand 5/8 in general. Is it even possible to have a legitimate discussion there? I see a lot of former DTF members that were banned or otherwise choose not to post here anymore.

Wait what? If you're talking about the Classic Rock Presents Prog tweet, I suppose they mean that they will be the ones broadcasting The Enemy Inside for UK listeners. (They are from the UK, aye?)

I just read a song by song review, and in the "prologue" of the review it was stated that the album was conceptual.
Has this been confirmed before or seen anywhere?

I think I've seen that review and if it's the one I'm thinking about, he doesn't actually describe track by track exactly, as in, he doesn't name the tracks. Or maybe it's a different review. Well, is it an official and authorized review?

Yep, it's the one I've seen. I speak Portuguese, so I could understand it without google. Still don't know if that review is authorized though. Maybe it came from one of the listening parties? I don't know =P

EDIT: Oh, saw your edit. It's from the listening party. No problems then, I would guess?

EDIT 2: Oops, wait... It's not. It's from a promotional copy XD

I'm a native Portuguese speaker  :lol
Wasn't in the right mood to translate it right now  ;D

EDIT: Yeah, no problem. The listening party reviews are authorized.
EDIT2: Oh, it is. But there's still no problem. It's the exact thing the listening party guests listened to, and tons of reviews have been made through promotional copies.

"This twelfth work, room with Roadrunner and the second with Mike Mangini on the sticks, lasts about an hour, and is a work consisting of 9 songs that take us back to a more melodic and traditional composition of their early years, but by mixing it with the toughness, speed and epic ambition that characterized them since. Most of the songs are about 5 to 7 minutes, and two of them (The Looking Glass and Surrender To Reason) are very reminiscent of the most classic Rush, while the majestic, multifaceted and predominantly instrumental epic 19 minutes, Illumination Theory , closing ago and boasts an exquisite neoclassical centerpiece, courtesy of keyboardist Jordan Rudess, which gives an unexpected reprieve to a potentially frantic work."

 :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg:

Edit: Also,

"This album has a more commercial twist that will allow disciples of Dream Theater and progressive fans in general put it to the uninitiated and to those they like without fear of being frightened by the avalanche of notes that is upon them . Dream Theater have explored different approaches to music over the years, but it seems that the stigma of breathtakingly ambitious epic music and remains a constant in them."

What does a commercial twist really mean? Pink Floyd and Rush? Then hell yes! Modern rock (I really don't even know what to call this... alternative?)? Then hell no.
