Songs You Would Like To See On The Next Tour
« on: November 19, 2010, 08:45:47 AM »
Just wondering what songs you would like to see.  Personally I'd like to, The Great Debate, ACOS, Disappear, Anna Lee, These Walls, LSOAD or The Silent Man.  Some ones they haven't done in ages. I'd quite like to see New Millennium make a comeback too.

Everything you listed except The Great Debate.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I'd love to see the full-length Take The Time with 2nd verse and acoustic bit, but that's unlikely. Learning to Live is always welcome. 6:00 would be great, something different from FII and The Spirit Carries On back in the full-time rotation. Glass Prison and Home would also be nice.

Peruvian skies
The Great debate
Stream of consciousness
Panic attack
The Ministry of lost souls
A Nightmare to remember

And maybe a couple more...

Here's what I think would be interesting.

A Fortune in Lies
Learning to Live
New Millennium
Endless Sacrifice
These Walls
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. Songs that I could actually see them bringing back:
New Milennium
Trial of Tears
Take the Time

Songs that they don't seem to care for much but I would love to see:
These Walls

Songs that everyone wants to see that probably won't get played:
Octavarium
Learning to Live

Songs that I really want to see but they've played them a bit too recently to start bringing back just yet:
Blind Faith
Sacrificed Sons
In the Name of God

Eeeyup.

These are mostly pipe dreams :\ but I'd love to see:
Only A Matter of Time &/or Status Seeker from WDADU
You Not Me, Take Away My Pain, Anna Lee from FII
Through Her Eyes (with intro guitar solo by JP) from SFAM

any of these would be VERY welcomed! :hefdaddy

The Killing Hand, Trial of Tears, Innocence Faded. Hell's Kitchen a lot more than any.

Songs I would love to see but never have.  Although truth be told I don't really think many of these are realistic...

Hell's Kitchen
Light Fuse and Get Away
Ytsejam
Disappear
These Walls
Honor Thy Father

Songs I would never grow tired of...
Learning to Live
Scarred

That's really all that I would have on my wish list.

Any song or 2 from Awake
Misunderstood
The Great Debate
Stream Of Consciousness
These Walls
Burning My Soul
Lines In The Sand
Learning to Live

And the one I wish they'd play but know it won't happen, unless they surprise me:
Light Fuse and Get Away
I don't know how they can be so proud of winning with them odds. - Little Big Man

(I'd love to see Space Dye Vest but...)

I really liked most of the songs from Octavarium, so any of those. I like Strange Deja Vu and War Inside My Head.

I'll pick one or two songs per album based on what I perceive to be the most realistic options:

From When Dream and Day Unite - Anything, really, although I know how unlikely this is, especially in light of Mike's departure.
From Images and Words - Wait for Sleep and Learning to Live
From Awake - I think Innocence Faded and/or Lifting Shadows Off a Dream are due for comebacks

From Falling into Infinity - New Millennium, or, if they do an Evening With tour, Trial of Tears
From Scenes from a Memory - Overture 1928/Strange Deja Vu or Through My Words/Fatal Tragedy
From Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence - The Glass Prison and, I dunno, maybe The Great Debate? It would definitely depend on the nature of the shows they'd be doing.

From Train of Thought - The only song I can really see them bringing back right now is Stream of Consciousness
From Octavarium - These Walls, or maybe Octavarium for an occasional encore (like they did on the PN tour with In the Name of God)
From Systematic Chaos - The Dark Eternal Night

From Black Clouds & Silver Linings - I see them keeping A Rite of Passage and Wither in the setlists and maybe throwing in The Shattered Fortress
Anything Else: However unlikely it is, A Change of Seasons would be spectacular.

In the two Dream Theater shows I've seen, neither have I, and it drives me nuts! I'd love to see at least one song from my favourite album!

I would love Disappear, though it aint happening.

Why not? It's not hard to play, not hard to sing, it's short.......

I want:

Lifting Shadows Off A Dream
These Walls
The Great Debate
Take Away My Pain

I assume it's because the band feels it's not very good live. In that it has no energy and kind of makes people sad and tired. And they're a metal band.

I know many may disagree but I would love to see them play Raw Dog live! Also, it would be great to see them play Stream of Consciousness again...I always wonder why they haven't played it since the ToT tour!

Octavarium, The Glass Prison, Surrounded, Blind Faith, Raise The Knife, The Root of All Evil, I Walk Beside You, Learning To Live, Burning My Soul, Disappear, The Way It Used To Be, Take Away My Pain.

Interested to see whether the new drummer makes some songs better or worse live than they have been previously.

I'm not a huge fan of that song, but that would be funny as hell.
