I got into ...And Justice For All at the beginning of this month, and while I haven't listened to it non-stop, it hasn't really left my listening rotation either. This is the kind of album I like to call a perennial classic; I can turn it on no matter how many times I've heard it and I'll still get lots of enjoyment from it. Really good album from start to finish!
Jakub Zytecki - Nothing Lasts, Nothing's LostSo stoked to finally see him live in a few months.
Just popping in to say Luke, you were right.
It was 1974 at work today!
...going along with Dragon Attack's Queen thread has been like taking a free class in Queen knowledge. Where else are you gonna find info like that?!
Zydar is my new hero. I just laughed so hard I nearly shat.
Quadrophenia, Side Four: one of my Top Five nonQueen album sides of all time
Quote from: TAC on January 24, 2023, 04:09:11 PMQuadrophenia, Side Four: one of my Top Five nonQueen album sides of all time I am not quite old enough to think of albums in terms of "sides," though I do think of albums like Quadrophenia and The Wall in terms of "Discs." That said, it's not my take, but I can get behind your post. I might put Quadrophenia Disc 2 in my Top 10 Discs of all time, definitely Top 20. Pete just reached such an elite level with his songwriting in the period.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now?
I've no idea where this recommendation came from but holy shit this album is cool. So it's progressive death metal but it sounds way more like classic 80s death metal than your usual prog death. It's got the classic old school death metal vocals. It's prog elements include some jazzy break downs and a few bits that are a bit Rush-esque. Throw in a sci-fi album cover and lyrics and you've pretty much got me by the balls. This is worth checking out.

I really like Blood. I think it's my favorite of the OSI releases and Gavin Harrison was a great addition on that album.
One of my favorite albums of all time.

More like aggressive technical thrash for me...like you say, the vocals are harsh, but not in the modern death metal way. Definitely some Vektor in there too, via Voivod. Coroner as well. This sounds like it could be right in my wheelhouse...thanks for the rec!

That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".
Remember the mark of a great vocalist is if TAC hates them with a special passion
