Use of Force by Brad Thor.
Also, i finally finished Harry Potter en français. The reading
pace picked up as i went, but damn was that slow.
***Dark Tower Spoliers Ahead***
On my first read through in 2016 i didn't like 6 at all, and thought 7 had some issues throughout with a garbage ending. Both were better the 2nd time through.
My biggest disappointments were the fate of the wizard's rainbow and Mordred. As mentioned by Evermind, it felt like Mordred was merely a plot device instead of what could have been a truly riveting character. Although, to be fair, on the reread i did feel some sympathy for him when he was alone in the cold.
The whole scene at the Red Castle was awful. It became worse when you find out the Crimson King simply smashed all the balls. What the hell kind of crap is that? I was hoping to see them in action along the way after having pink and black introduced in books 4 and 5, respectively.
On my reread i just tried to enjoy the journey, and focus less onthe ending. The shitty, shitty ending. The next time i read them I'll likely skip Gunslinger altogether, and might stop book 7 after Algul Siento. Maybe after Roland and susannah escape from under castle discordia. That scene is pretty good.
