Give Me Results Or Give Me Death!
12. Wolfking...Kreator - Death Becomes My Light
"Wow, this was thrash-fucking-tastic!"
Holy shit does this song kick ass. I actually saw Kreator in a club in 1989. I was never into them though. But damn, I must check this album out. This IS Metal!
11. Kwyjibo...Kansas - Death Of Mother Nature Suite
"A very good tune from a just miss band for me. I wish they were heavier."
So this is really good. Considering it's from 1974, it's amazing really. Kansas just does not click with me for some reason. Just not heavy enough, I guess. But this is a cool song that is a bit long, and I'm not sure how much I'd come back to it.
10. Parama...Venenum - Trance of Death, Pt. 2: Metanoia Journey
"I must say, I was expecting a lot more from this.."
This instrumental really grew on me through each listen. I think for the first listen, I had much higher expectations and was not expecting a relatively straight forward instrumental. But the more I listened, the more I liked. The music really hooks you in.
9. Lethean...Kamelot - Love You To Death
"I've been pretty vocal about not caring for this band and this did not change my mind."
I've never really liked anything I've heard from Kamelot. This song actually improved as this round went on. I like it because it feel original. Kamelot really bores me but this song was cool.
8. Evermind...Elvenking - Death And The Suffering
"This song was really easy on the ears and had a lot of different elements in it."
Even after 4 listens, I could not decide if I liked the vocalist or not. I really liked the solo section.
7. Seneca..Agalloch - And The Great Cold Death Of The Earth.
"This was pretty chill. It just never seems to reach a climax."
This is really moody and cool. As I said in the First impression, I just don't feel like it ever really ...gets there. But it is cool and I definitely liked it.
6. Indiscipline...Nuclear Assault - Brain Death
"I never really took this band very seriously. This was cool though."
I love the spirit in this. I always felt that Nuclear Assault was a real messy band. Almost too much looseness in their music, especially the vocals. I was never into them though, and I really don't feel like I missed anything. But I appreciate this submission and I really enjoyed it.
5. Stadler...HIM - When Love And Death Embrace
"This song starts out real creepy and ends with a Schenker inspired solo which is really nice. That's basically all I remember."
I don't know. I had a hard time getting into this. Other than the Schenkler style solo, I could find really nothing here that i would want to go back to.
4. Kattelox...Alestorm - Death Throes of the Terrorsquid
"This song was pretty good except for the corny vocals in the verses."
There are some decent parts in this, but it's hard to take it seriously with those Pirate Metal vocals. I liked the vocals when they were a bit harsher in the second half of the song. i wish the whole song was sung like that. Also the symphonic elements are too much for me.
3. Kingshmegland...Unruly Child - Life Death
"This was pretty uneven, and it's fair to say that I didn't like it."
This has a Zeppelin vibe, especially in the verses. And again in the instrumental part. I honestly can't see me getting into this band based on this. It feels like they might be a bit too straightforward for me. They just don't feel very original.
2. Puppies...Exmortus - Victory Or Death
"I think K-Lox found the cheesiest album cover with a Death song on it and sent it. And guess what? It's fucking cheesy.."
I don't really know how to review this one. From the 2:23 mark, there's 30 seconds of instrumental goodness, but I really wanted to skip this song each time through.
1. Elite...Ghost - Death Knell
"Wow, that was pretty terrible. I've heard so much better from this band."
Terrible on the first listen. Terrible on the next three listens.
