Saw Jason Bourne on Friday. My wife is a huge fan of the series. I like it, but am not crazy about it. I thought this installment was pretty good. But one thing that kind of subliminally bothered me throughout the entire thing is that they keep upping the ante in terms of technology and response time such that it is basically impossible in the Bourne universe for anyone to remain hidden for more than a couple of hours tops if the government is truly searching for them.
My wife didn't care for the actress playing the new character, Heather Lee, but I really liked her in the role. She had a certain detached, cold, calculatingness that made her chilling and morally ambiguous, which I thought was cool. My wife, on the other hand, felt that, as an actress, Alicia Vikander just lacked the chops to bring any real emotion to the character.
Anyhow, good movie overall. It followed the basic Bourne formula, but I'm okay with that. At this point, you kinda know what you are getting with the Bourne films, and you either like it or you don't. If you like what they bring to the table, you will like this one. (and, no, I haven't read any of the books)
