Special uses for Dream Theater songs?

There’s a thread called running to Octavarium about someone who liked to listen to that song while they were running.  It just got me to thinking: are there any Dream Theater songs you use for specific things?  For instance:

6:00 – not that big a fan of the song in general, but it serves as a great alarm clock. 

Constant Motion – again, don’t LOVE the song, but I love to exercise to it.

A Change of Seasons – I’m a writer, and this is the best song I’ve EVER found for creative inspiration while I’m writing.

The Ministry of Lost Souls/In the Presence of Enemies pt 2:  When I’m having trouble getting to sleep, I’ll often grab Systematic Chaos and start it on track 7, and I’ll usually be asleep before ITPOE2’s over.  I don’t find those songs boring at all, but they have a relaxing effect on me.

Take the Time: my ultimate motivational/inspirational song.  Gets me pumped and ready for just about anything. 

Anybody else have any songs they have special uses for?

Whenever I need a bit of a motivator to let it all out, I normally whack on Vacant.

Other than that, I just use DT songs to sing along to...Badly.

 If you like being jarred out of your sleep by a drum beat, then, yeah, I guess that would do the trick.  Whatever floats your boat, man.  I prefer the mellow opening of Pink Floyd's Momentary Lapse Of Reason album myself.

  I know what you mean.  Myself, mellow songs make me feel like going back to sleep when I try to use them as alarms.  I'm not a morning person; I need something to kick me awake.

Well, perhaps you would be a morning person if you used proper wake-up music.  Using 6:00 to wake up is about as appropriate as using 2 Live Crew for a nice brunch with mom.

There's a reason alarm clocks make shrill obnoxious noises - some of us need to be jarred awake, or we just go back to sleep.  

Whenever I need a bit of a motivator to let it all out, I normally whack on Vacant.

Vacant's an excellent choice for that purpose.

Otherwise, the AA Suite is a good one to jog to; great pace, great energy, lot's of change ups, etc. And it clocks in at almost an hour

Back in college i would study to IAW and Awake.  I swear it made me smarter.  All of the complex time signatures and arrangements would rearrange and create new neural networks in my brain.  Kind of like Mozart.

I used to use Octavarium to time my 3 mile runs. Sure, its not the BEST workout song, especially at the beginning, but I'm used to exercising with no music at all, so that was no problem for me.

I like to take insects, and the trap them in glass cups, and watch them struggle to escape... all the while I blast "The Glass Prison" as I scream the vocals in a death metal type voice, as I laugh demonicly at the insect's failed attempts to escape the glass.

I've also used 6:00 as an alarm signal. How ironic 

Constant Motion, This Dying Soul and As I Am are on my gym playlist, and I currently use ITPOE pt. 1 as my ringtone, because of the intro. My previous ringtone was the isolated drum track during the instrumental section of, again, Constant Motion. Man, that bit is freaky.

I've used The Glass Prison as my alarm clock for years, and I've used These Walls, The Count of Tuscany, Metropolis, and a few others as ring tones.

I've tried running to the 12SS, and it doesn't work.  Repentance is such a buzz kill.

Hmm.. if the artwork is any indication, A Dramatic Turn Of Events would make for a great plane riding album.

Seriously, though, Awake and FII make for a great playlist for my typical 2+ hour walks.

Also, The Glass Prison is great for running.
