Let's see here. Seneca is absolutely correct that Americans are far to uptight about sexuality, and therefore porn. It actually borders on paranoia at times. Ehra is probably wrong that this is all about that uptightness. Rather than a fear of sexuality, I'd chalk it up to an understanding of it. Kids have a preoccupation with sex, and this would be a monumental source of distraction. I agree with Scheavo that there's a huge difference between not wanting your kids whacking off in front of Back Door Sluts IX and completely blowing your stack over it. It's not the end of the world, and honestly, a huge overreaction from mom and dad will probably be far more harmful than the porn itself.
