Casualties is meant for an album listen.  Cant rank them at all.

Mo'fuggin' one month till the Z2. I cannot fucking wait for this, doods. Let's have an excite jerk. It's not even a circle, it's just a massive ball of balls and happiness. Let's do it.

With coffee.

I have a feeling I'm gonna be playing Fallout a shitload if that preview video "Singing" on Youtube is any indication of the song. I also predict I'll like Sky Blue a bit more than Dark Matters (Um...if Sky Blue is the DTP disc...can't remember).

Ending my late evening with Epicloud (and a bit of Ghost later on) last night, and I started this early morning with City. This music is godlike.

You were right, Tio. Depending on the game, Universe In A Ball! makes for some solid boss music. And then I realized that the "search for home" part is reprized in Numbered!, right with the "I'm alright to fly!!!" callback. And I was all like  :metal

It really looks like it is. It'd be perfect! It looks like a natural evolution to Ziltoid's cover. I'm expecting Sky Blue to have a different, more ethereal cover; or rather hope. I'd be happy with this as the cover to both but knowing Dev, Sky Blue will have one too.

I'm really pissed. I just realized I could probably go to the Royal Albert Hall gig next year--I live in America, it is just an awesome coincidence--and it is sold out. :(

Cole!!

That's a bummer bum. I've had that happened to me before, with an Opeth show. Luckily I got to see them the year after but it still sucked big time. So hopefully next time around will be better for ya; the odds are in your favor since I'm pretty sure the man is gonna be touring his ass off before he takes his (supposed) break after Z2.

I mean, I'm seeing him in November with Animals as Leaders. It is just he's going to play an hour and a half —and I don't give a fuck about Monuments or Animals as Leaders—vs a 3+ hour solo gig with puppets and animatronics and craziness and the biggest solo crowd he's ever had. It is supposed to be even wilder than the Retinal Circus and I'm probably going to be in Paris (not far from London to spend a 3 day weekend) at the time, but oh well. So it goes. America has to get its shit together in terms of liking good music.

I'd say you can't go wrong with Ocean Machine or Terria.

I'd start with Ocean Machine. It's his first album, and very good, but not his best (which I often don't find the best thing to start with), and it's quite accessible, especially the first few songs are quite catchy.

I'd recommend those three, yes. Terria is one of his most 'soundscape' albums, while AE is more song focused. OM:B sort of sits in between. And they're all bloody brilliant.

For some reason this album reminds me of The Division Bell and A momentary lapse of Reason. Maybe it's the general vibe of the album, but there's something on the vocals, too.

Edit: Oh god Earth day just made love to my ears.

listened to OM on blue vinyl for the first time tonight — sounds WAY better than the CD, even though that's probably the source. it's extremely well mastered for the medium and the splitting of "Hide Nowhere" and "Sister" was handled perfectly.

gotta try Terria soon to see if they messed up any side splits... i have an irrational fear about this because of how many continuous albums get screwed up royally (including other Dev albums made by Back on Black/Plastichead).

That's cool. I'm really reluctant to buy Devin's albums on vinyl. Apart from Epicloud and a few others, Devin's albums to me are albums that I have to hear in one go without any pauses. Of course, the vinyls will probably sound a lot better, but I'd have to flip the vinyls all the time, which disrupts the flow for me.
