Well, I saw 'em last night at Milkboy in Philly.
To start, OK Goodnight are great live. They played about half of the new album, interlaced with old stuff. I hadn't heard the old stuff, but it actually sounded really good, so looking forward to checking that out now. Everyone sounded great - Casey Williams is phenomenal live, as are the band. The new touring guitarist doesn't miss a step.
LOTS of anime fans in the audience. I saw a lot more RWBY shirts than I saw shirts of any other prog/metal bands. I did spot a few Dream Sonic tees in the audience - I was wearing my Devin shirt.
My one complaint was out of anyone's control. It was fucking HOT in the room. Like a sauna. And too many opening bands. Show started at 7:30, and OK Goodnight did not start performing until 10:45 or so. I had to leave a bit early (I think the 2nd to last song) because I have work today and the train schedules in Philly get real sparse after midnight. Plus I was already pretty hot and tired from standing for 4 hours in the heat.
Still, so glad I was able to see the band in such a small room. Hopefully it's only up from here, and I'll always cherish the memory of seeing this exciting new band in such an intimate setting.
