First Trailer...

I have to say that looks really underwhelming and a re-hash of SOTD.

But Shaun and Fuzz were both great. As was Scott Pilgrim. Edgar Wright hasn't made a bad film yet.

They were but this one ( from that trailer ) looks like a rehash of everything that's gone before.

They will tell you it's mockingly self-referential and ironic and it's a trilogy so themes will keep re-appearing....

But that can also be an excuse for lack of inspiration.

Of course, i trust Edgar and the film may be brilliant.

:)

* As long as it's better than Paul !!! { that was dire }.

A trailer doesn't show much. And really, as long as the jokes are as good as the previous two, it will probably be awesome.

Yeah, Paul was bad. But I also feel like it went too much for the "american comedy" rather than the british comedy which made Shaun and Fuzz so great.

Indeed. It was puerile too. Thankfully Edgar W wasn't involved in that one.

Simon's schtick is getting a bit tired now though.

I disagree.  There are plenty of dry American comedies that are as good as those two movies.  They just made a bad film.  BTW I am so looking forward to it.

Edit, I think Paul was to slick, not indie enough to make it charming.

Alright, not all american comedy is bad, but for the most part it's not my cup of tea. However, Paul went for that newer wave of comedy where it's like: "oh, that was the joke". Like, we were supposed to laugh at Paul for being an alien and smoking weed, because that's "goofy". And that was a joke.

I can't quite believe Pegg went from writing Spaced to THAT.
