There's a girl I know who has a job at a gas station, and her shifts start at 5 AM. Most mornings, she posts a status around 4 AM bitching about having to wake up so early.

"conquering another work day, already ready for bed tonight!"

"will be sleeping good come bedtime tonight!!"

"just really didn't wanna get out of bed this morning, it was so warm and comfortable!! :(("

"the absolute worst part of the day is when the alarm goes off every morning!! :(("

"need.sleep."

"one hour down, only 8 more to go! :(("

"just love walking into work at 4:45 and the first thing I hear is, "You look tired!" Well no freakin duhh it's way to freaking early to be up!!"

Now, I definitely sympathize with her, but shit. She bitches about it every other day. Start looking for a new damn job if you hate it so much!

I've been experiencing that issue while at school using IE. Firefox and Chrome don't seem to be having that problem.

I have problems with my PM's page.
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

I have problems with my PM's page.

The whole redesign of the messaging system really irritates me. The fact that chat and indivdual messaging has all been combined is frustrating to no end.

That was the final straw. I deleted my account about a month or so ago ! :P

I have no idea why they even thought that that was a good idea.  The only thing I can think of is that it is now similar to how texts between iPhone (and presumably other smartphone) users are all one continuous "conversation".  I think that's pretty stupid, too, but I don't have a smartphone so I don't know.  I've just seen my wife's, and thought it was lame.  I'd rather be able to reference and/or find an individual exchange quickly.  To me, that's more important than making it all "flow together".

It makes sense with phones, because texts normally are just an inbox of messages with no organization by person. Facebook's messaging system was more like email though, so changing it as they did is really just a step backwards.

Ah, good point.  I agree that the Facebook change was a step backwards.  We went from individual messages, each with their own subject and possibly sent months or even years apart, to a single thread.  I never use Facebook chat, but man, if they folded that into it as well, then that's even more stupid.

As weird as it is, I like looking back on those "two years ago" or "one year ago" updates. They bring back really good memories sometimes, like yesterday in 2010 when I posted about my MRE supper on the bank of the Mississippi in Iowa (on my second road trip out here to Denver).

"Stupid cancer! . . . Some of us want a new house . . . A new car . . . A new mobile phone . . . To lose weight . . . But someone battling cancer wants just one thing, to win the battle. 97% of my friends won't re-post this, but 3% will. Let's see who does. Please re-post this in honor of someone who is battling cancer"

First time I've had any of my friends post this kind of thing.  It completely devalues the meaning.

My girlfriend left facebook open on my computer.  I came home from work to see one of her friends' status updates:

"If you take away all the vowels in the word BOYS you get BS...How true!"

And I facepalmed.

Then I read on, and saw my girlfriend's response:  "If you take away all the vowels in the word FEMALE you get FML."

Here's a fun trick I discovered.  If someone doesn't log out of Facebook, then surfs other sites, if you go back to Facebook, it will ask for their password.  Just click on the Facebook logo in the top-left corner.  It will blow off the password confirmation and you're in, in their account.

Mine doesn't do that.

If I'm logged into the Facebox and go to other pages, when I return to facebook (typing the address in the bar, clicking on a bookmark, etc) it opens up facebook and I'm still logged in.

No prompt for a password or anything, and my setting IS NOT set to "Keep me logged in" (which is basically an automatic log-in).

it just recognizes that I never signed out, so it doesn't sign me out. (but if I close the window, I still have to log in all over again.)

Weird.  If I don't log out, it comes back to the password prompt screen, which is different from the regular logon screen, if I go somewhere else in between.  It says that it's me, but asks for my password in order to continue.  One time I just clicked on the Facebook logo to see what happens, and it went to my main page.  Both my wife and my daughter have left themselves logged in before, and I've gotten the password prompt, but bypassed it.  I always thought it was a good idea to prompt for a password in such circumstances, and lame that it could be bypassed so easily.  But it's just plain weird that it doesn't work the same way for everyone.

well apparently the facebook account settings get reset every now and then (due to updates and such, or so I've heard) so it's possible that either of our respective preferences have been reset at some point without our knowledge

I'm not too worried about it. I don't put anything on there that I wouldn't want others to see/know

Are you sure you haven't bookmarked some specific URL that asks for password instead of the main page?

Ah, that is indeed a clue.  My bookmark points to "https://www.facebook.com/login.php"  Probably because that's the page that was actually up when I bookmarked it.  At that page, it prompts for a password, and I guess clicking the Facebook logo takes me to the main page.  Still kinda dumb that it works that way.

Dude, it could be worse. That 12 year old could actually be sending you pictures of herself instead of just passing off fakes, that's a hell of a lot worse.
