Thanks! I guess I'll make that my project for this weekend.

Restoring factory settings won't mess up anything having to do with the phone functionality part, right?

No just make sure you back up to iCloud like i mentioned. When you restore it, it installs the newest OS so you won't miss any features.

Just installed Mountain Lion on my 2010 White Unibody Macbook, It's running surprisingly well. I'm really loving this actually. Much nicer than Snow Leopard. I can't wait to quadruple the RAM in this thing to make it run even better  :tup

iPhone 5 ???

If so, it's quite sexy.

I really like the look of that actually, yeah It looks slightly different, but I do really enjoy the look of the 4 and the two tone matte metal look is quite something and the 4" screen is the perfect size for me. I wouldn't want much bigger

and dude that sucks :( When lifeproof gets these released I recommend investing in one of these. It's a waterproof, shockproof, snow proof and dirt proof case. It's not bulky at all compared to other good cases and i know from experience they are totally waterproof https://www.lifeproof.com/ipad

I'm surprised they're changing the aspect ratio (if this is legit).  At least with the upgrade to the Retina Display, it was only a matter of pixel density.  Having black bars on the bottom and top of every legacy app doesn't seem like an Apple design.

There'll be no official word until like a week before the event probably in October.

For the record I hate these new apple ads. Steve was a genius when it came to marketing. It's clear he is missed right now watching these ads.

On October 4, 2011, in Cupertino, California, Apple announced the iPhone 4S. On October 7, 2011, it became available for preorder in seven initial countries (United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Japan) with the first delivery date set for October 14, 2011 and available on that same day for direct in-store sales in those countries.

So expect a similar time frame i would guess.

I doubt he had a direct hand in the commercials.

As for the latest batch, they were pretty terrible.  The one on the airplane was all right, because it actually showed how simple macs are supposed to be without treating their users like COMPLETE fuckwads.  The other two...didn't.

Crap, I wanted to download Lion, and it is just Mountain Lion that is available. My computer can run 10.8, but it is on the bottom of the spec food chain.

Reading his biography, it sounded like, especially after his return, he was pretty heavily involved, and more or less had final say over what ads they would run.

I give them credit for creating one of the most memorable ad campaigns of recent times, but the lies in those ads got more and more blatant as they wore the idea out.
If those ads were to believe, then PC users are all businessmen still on 286s creating spreadsheets in DOS inbetween error messages, while fending off viruses with our 8" floppy disks.

Cool, it's a bit bigger, but its not going to make me hate my iPhone 4S like I thought it was.

What if it has a battery comparable to the droid razr  max? That's more of a selling point to me than the screen size.

Jeez, the 4s already borders on being too big for my tastes, will be avoiding this new one for as long as possible if it really is bigger

Really? The iPhone is one of the smallest smart phones out there. That's the best part about it. It seems like everyone else is trying to have a huge screen.

Just got a MacBook pro, and I've been trying to use the migration assistant, but the first time I tried it stopped after about 5 hours, with my pc saying it had blocked the software for whatever reason.  I unblocked it and waited for it to reconnect, but it never did. Anyone know what's up with that? I restarted it and it's been going so far, just hoping it doesn't do it again.

To be perfectly honest, I don't have many issues with the battery. It lasts me the entire day for the most part. Could it be better, yeah, but if iPhone 5 has better battery life, it won't hurt my feelings.

And I echo what KNH said. I don't really like the bigger screens. Though from what I heard, it's taller, not wider.

I'm OK with the size of the 4s.  I don't want a bigger phone.  Thinner is fine, but if it's vertically or horizontally larger, I won't be interested in getting one until I absolutely have no choice.  The weight of the device is not what I am concerned about, but the bigger these devices become, the less convenient they are to carry.  I held out as long as I could with my flip-phone because it was small enough to fit in my shirt pocket, very light and all I really use my phone for is.......

wait for it.....
