The rendering is all up to date, and I don't render when it's this hot anyway. It runs the CPU at 100% solid, so it heats up to the point of being too hot to touch.

Loved the game, although there were a few frustrating bits that had me swearing and yelling at it today.

Some really challenging platforming that was really rewarding to get through. I'm up to the final boss now. After that, I've also started playing Freedom Planet.

Kids fevers are fast. They come and go. My brother always gets sick when his son is sick. It takes him a lot longer to shake it.

Yeah when he gets fevers it's usually gone within 12 hours. Thankfully it wasn't super super high last night and some Advil helped. He seemed a lot better this morning and didn't have a fever, but I still gave him some Advil.

I'm looking forward to be with my dad and cousin for Thanksgiving. My brother and his family are traveling to his sister in law's house in NY. Small group at my house this year which will be nice and relaxing.

Yeah my in-laws are mercifully getting the fuck out of dodge for Thanksgiving this year, so they aren't hosting. Tonight we go over there for my wife's grandmother's 91st birthday and boom, done. Tomorrow we'll be at my sister's for a small meal, non-traditional Thanksgiving style. I'm looking forward to a much quieter Thanksgiving than many recent years. I fucking need it.

The move to Raleigh has introduced new complexities to our holiday plans.

Tonight after I get off work, we are making the 3-hour drive to a hotel in Hickory, NC so we can be there for Thanksgiving tomorrow with my Mom and brother. Then, when we are done there, we will make the 90-minute drive to our former town of Mount Airy, NC to stay overnight so we can have Thanksgiving with the in-laws on Friday.

Other than the actual driving tonight, I can't wait. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays.

So I just found out the school system here has their last day of the year on a fucking Monday this year. Fat lot of fucking sense that makes. Fucking turds expect the kids to go home for a weekend to come back for one damn day of assessments and bullshit, all the while conveniently fucking up early summer vacation plans. Definitely a growler of Society and Solitude 9 that friends who went to Hill on Saturday snagged for me, along with probably a bottle of one of their shelf saisons. Beyond that probably a big stout or two for later in the night and also considering a bottle of mead.

It's just devastatingly smooth and easy to drink. The first time I tried it, I saw the Jameson's label and took a sip and it felt like a soft drink, so smooth and easy. I've had more than my share of fifths of that stuff. It's dangerous, because before I know it I'm 3/4 through a bottle and looking for my pillow.

I think there are two varieties: Porter barrel aged and stout barrel aged. I've had the stout more often but I think both are delicious.

Porter and Stout are similar enough that I can't imagine there being too much of a difference between the two.
