It used to be 12345 - the combination to both axeman's briefcase and the shields for Druidia.

Wasn't your original 5 digits something else?  It seems like I recall changing it to 90210.

It was originally 9182, and then someone (I guess you) changed it to 90210 years ago because Veronica always used to type my name and change the numbers at the end, with 90210 being the most common variant. She slipped up one time and typed it properly, hence the "and Veronica knows my name!" in my status :lol

Welp !

Was just pulling out of a junction and heard a big crunching sound.

My Chain had come off the sprocket and gotten wedged between the wheel and the bike frame.

Needless to say the chain is FUBAR...

Had to literally drag the bike across the road and park it in a space until tomorrow when Dad can come down and help remove it.

Brand new chain ordered !!!  :o

Isn't this more than once you've had issues with the chain Kotowboy?

I last bought a new chain back in Feb. It was probably due a change. Maybe ReaperKK can pitch in as to how often he gets a new chain.

I'll report back when I found out how many miles i've done since Feb.

EDIT : I've done over 6,500 miles since I last changed the chain - Reap - any thoughts - that about right would you say ?

You shouldn't need a new chain after 6500 miles, especially with the power your bike makes. You should get at least double that. When you changed the chain back in February, did you swap out the sprockets too? If those are worn and need replacing, that's going to shorten the life expectancy of the chain.

Also, probably a stupid question, but are you sure you're running the correct pitch?

Sprocket looks fine. Maybe the chain was just loose.

What do you mean by pitch ? I got the exact chain for my bike / sprockets / length etc.

It's a heavy duty chain.

Do you mean the adjustment on the rear axle to lengthen the chain ? Because we check that every time we adjust the chain tension...

Pitch is the number of teeth of a gear per inch of its pitch diameter. I've never dealt with it with chains, but it's the same concept for the RC transmissions I build. If I try to run a 32P pinion gear with a 48P spur gear, I'm going to have a really bad time.

I only know that the rear sprocket has an additional two teeth than standard for my bike but i've been told that I can use the same chain. . .

Yeah. That's fine. That's incredibly common. On a 21 speed mountain bike, you have 21 different teeth combinations. One that's something like 1:20 will provide you a ton of torque, and one that's 2:1 will give you way more speed. The gears don't have to match in size (# of teeth), but both gears need the same pitch regardless of tooth count. It could be possible that the owner before you put the wrong pitched sprockets on, and even though you're ordering the correct chain for the sprockets your bike should have, you're getting the wrong one.

Not saying that's definitely it. Just throwing out ideas.

Hi Reap - what say you about my chain situation ?

and @Chino - the previous owner changed the sprockets to get more speed in Top Gear. He's a bike test instructor so he knew what he was doing.

So.. I had a sit down with my supervisor. She told me that she doesn't think that (Our Manager) is going to pass me on my probation. I know the programs. I know the criteria. I have a love of helping people and have an obvious passion for it (all her words), but I have issues with multitasking and staying organized and on top of deadlines. She suggested something that she said she has never suggested to a trainee before: She wants me to sit down with out manager and have a conversation with him about possibly transferring me into an ongoing department where it's less "Hold on to and juggle cases and work 2 different programs" and more task based. She also said she'd recommend it to him and back me 100%. Problem is.. she's never seen a trainee get transferred while on probation. It's a long shot, and if he goes for it, I'll keep my job (probably with an extended probation) but will likely get moved to another building... which isn't a huge deal (there are 3 offices I could be moved to... 1 is 5 min from my house, 1 an extra 5 min from my current office, and one is an hour away.

Wish me luck everyone
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Chinese food for the shifts today.  Another month safe.  18 days away for 1 years OSHA safe.  It's a big accomplishment for the group.

So I'm leaving early to get an oil change and pick up Captain America: Civil War on Blu Ray today then coming in with food tonight for the second shift.
