The show was very well attended. The orchestra section was way smaller than the last two gigs (Nokia and Bass Concert Hall), although the balcony was bigger than expected.
Setlist C, so I finally got to see Beneath the Surface, phewww. DT was solid as ever, and I chatted with a couple of DTFers after the show.
Something I've noticed on this tour more than others is the amount of recorded backing tracks used prominently throughout the set.
Andy McKee blew us away as an opener and the crowd had fun with it. (some guy yelled "I want to have your babies," and he had a humorous, incredulous response). Very nice vibe and change of pace for a DT show.
Did Charlie Dominci attend? Maybe. Now that I think of it the guy sitting next to me very well could have been Charlie. hmmmm......
In a touching moment, James talked about the trials of the past year and how especially special it was to be nominated for a Grammy.
Show #30 tomorrow night in Anaheim!!
