This was what I thought. Which makes me a tad bit sad since they are shipping it on the day of release, but oh well. It's not like we've already waited long enough to begin with.

for being as big an unexpecT fan as i claim to be, i should really give utopia more of a chance. i've always kinda scoffed at it as an album of 'where they came from' before morphing into something ridiculously awesome.

Utopia is kick ass. The Revival easily being my favourite track. Aside from my obvious boner (sorry, I'll cover it up) for the black metal elements, I love the way the vocals trade off on this album in particular to IAFA. I don't know what it is about it, but the way the growls go from vocalist to vocalist are so perfectly fluid.

The vocals trade off as always been one of the band's strenght IMO.

one thing ive been hoping for ever since invaders/flesh-era is that the theatrical narration type stuff be a little louder in the mix...it's great stuff, but oftentimes it's kinda buried in the mix.

Well, I think the mix in songs with narration sections (Novaë, Feasting Fools, etc.) is pretty good! It must be pretty damn hard to mix a band like Unexpect though!

Yeah the previews were taken down but the music video will come out soon enough (my guess is next week). The clip is for the song "Unsolved Ideas of a Distorted Guest", the first track off the new album.

That clip was sooo good I was playing it like twice a day!

i spun utopia last night. ofcourse, the black metal elements are there, but holy shit was i ever tripping out on just how thrashy a lot of parts are. i kept thinking some of them sections belong in a megadave song. anywayz, not only was i tripping out, but i was also enjoying it more than i remembered.
