And here we are. Didn't realise I'm so close to Times Square, literally about two minutes!

Don't know if you mentioned it, but is this your first time in NYC?

nobloodyname

No, I'm lucky enough to have been here three times before. First time was in 2006 for the Score show.

Skeever

I'm all set for NYC on Saturday. Hoping to get there around noon. Haven't thought much about what to do when I get there but when I do I'm sure it will involve more food before the meet up.

Quote from: pg1067 on March 06, 2025, 04:09:30 PMThe ticket prices drove me away from the Ranger's game ($201 just to get in the building?!).

Instead, I got a ticket for the Islanders game against Columbus on Monday.  Actually, I got two.  I was at the Islanders site and looking at a seat about 10 rows from the ice in one of the corners for about $130.  I decided to take a look at Stubhub as well and found a pair about 5 rows higher, on the aisle, for only $5 more.  So I get a buffer seat.

Unfortunately, I forgot that the Islanders had moved back to Nassau County, so I'll have to hop the LIRR instead of the subway.  Oh well.

I got tix for that same islanders game for 7 dollars on tick pick :-)

Got up this morning to the news that LHR is closed all day. Wondering if I've been super lucky in flying out yesterday. Or unlucky in that I'm potentially caught up in the issue with my flight back due to land on Monday morning. Eeek.

Oh, well. Off to The Met this morning.

Adami

Okay, so what is the plan Saturday? I'm on baby duty until like 4 or 5 but then can head into the city. Where am I going and what I can disagree with Stadler about when I get there?

Stadler

I'm really psyched about this trip.  Unless something bad happens in the meantime, I can see me being in a very agreeable mood.

I'm brining up Schiff, Trump, Democrats, Hunnus, Margot Robbie, and I'm recording everything you say.

The Elgin from 4 to 6:30 is the official meet up.

Livenation states the show starts at 8 for this one, it was 730 in Philly.

Gotcha, thanks! So do doors open at 630 or is that when y'all flood the Harry Potter store?

I prefer the lego store, so I'll be there for doors

I noticed this yesterday, as well.  RCMH has the doors open at 7, so looks like it's pushed back a half hour from everywhere else on the tour (that I've seen)

Screw Harry Potter. You and me is going to the Lego store!

Sorry for the sloppy seconds Adami with Bill.  I had, um, met up with him a few years ago.

Yea, he and I already met up before a Flying Colors show.

And now that band doesn't really exist. Coincidence?

That reminds me, I haven't been to the Nintendo store in years, I guess it's worth popping in to see what they have.

Last October, I went into FAO SchwarzI did the old Big tap dancing on the piano and my wife screwed up and didn't film it on my phone.

I'm begging you. I want to have fun, to smile, remain sober, be a pleasant experience for folks. DO NOT BRING UP ADAM SCHIFF.

:) :) :)

I'll give you ten minutes to get all your shots in. Then the window is closed.  :) :) :)

Decided to drive into the city instead of commuting. It saves me time/money.

Seems the airport is reopening, hopefully your flight is not affected on Sunday.

Got into NYC this morning, and did the 9/11 memorial/museum like I mentioned. It was pretty harrowing/incredible, would recommend it when anyone feels it's right. Had a big impact on me.

Also went to see the Billy Cobham's Time Machine gig tonight at the Blue Note. Overall pretty awesome. I ended up sat at a table with a guy who knew some of the band members, and I got to meet Will Lee and Randy Brecker for a brief moment which was wild. Also, Jeff Coffin was there watching too which was cool.

All around a great NYC day, excited for the big show tomorrow though!

Almost 19 years to the day. Wild. Looks like this is MP's first time with the band there since. Is that right?

Gotta report that I'm a no-go. In thought I got it worked out, then came down with something that is really kicking my ass. Was really hoping to see everyone.

I'm heading up now. Probably be in Manhattan in around 3 hours.
I'll definitely be at the meetup as soon as I can get there after I check in to my room, so look forward to seeing you all. I'll be wearing a white and green "Elephant Gym" shirt.
Otherwise, probably going to check out the Nintendo Store and MoMA if I get there earlier... not sure! See ya there.

geeeemo

I feel almost as hyped as the rest of you, but as I am in the west, Ive finished my shows. I would've loved to go to this one and this meet up. To meet all of you, great Dream Theater fans! I will live a bit vicariously though your posts. Have an awesome Dream Theater Day!

Parked and excited to get better exploration of the park.  And hoping to find a tree for a nap. The red eye is killing me. Looking forward to meetup
