Are there any good documentaries about the history of the band, ideally coming up the present day? My wife is coming to the gig on Saturday Sunday(!!) and wants to know more about the band beforehand.

I know about the Score documentary,  but it's not the most exciting thing and is obviously now 20 years old. Are there any good fan made documentaries on YouTube that anyone knows of?

Saturday?  (Edit: oh, sorry, you could well mean next Saturday, of course!)

Shame the question's not about Rush. My ex fell in love with them after watching Beyond the Lighted Stage with me in the early 10s.

There are various 'making of' bits and pieces available which will give her a flavour of their personalities in the Mangini years. And you could always look at a few of the recent Drumeo videos with MP.

Yes, Sunday! Better not get those days mixed up...

Someone on reddit recommended this (https://youtube.com/watch?v=k2uaBZc2zVY&feature=youtu.be). It doesn't go to the present day, but at least explains why DT have legendary status in prog rock/metal, and also explains why I keep trying to get her to listen to a weird concept album about dead people from the 1920s having sex.

Laughed at that last part! I might give that video a watch myself.

It's my current partner's first DT show, too. She's taken to them like a duck to water. Which is interesting given that the closest she's ever got to rock and metal was being a fan of The Mission and All About Eve in the late 80s. She calls Mike, Mikey P. And she refuses to call James James, referring to him as Kev. But yeah, aside from that.

what your partner does would be a great impetus for a sketch I'm quite sure  :lol
All my natural instincts are begging me to stop
But somehow I carry on, heading for the top
A physical absurdity, a tremendous mental game
Helping me understand exactly who I am
