;D

I just posted it silly. By the way I know Jordan. I've hung out with him in concerts.

Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

Ah. They did?  Lol. Hey I'm friends with Jordan. So suck it. LOL

I'm sorry, I'll stop. I was only goofing. :blush

Yup. Not responding specifically regarding Marc but with the number of people now having heard it, they can't all be hosting nascent YouTube channels of a thousand subscribers, or so-called music blogs with 200 regular readers. Can they? Hmm.

Quote from: SeRoX on January 31, 2025, 03:03:18 PMAlmost every time when new album is about to drop it's like everyone on the forum listens the album before release date but me.  :lol

For years I've been on of those folks that if they found out an album leaked or is available early I'll rush to download it. This time I'm actually going to wait until the boxset comes and I'll check it out then.

cramx3

I probably should have held back, like I did for the past couple weeks.  It seemed it turned into a free for all here with discussions on it, so I contributed something short on the one week out date.  My bad and apologizes. I didn't go out looking for a leak, it actually landed on my lap (for anyone wondering, I don't know where to find it). I was expecting myself to hold off but given the Philly show is the release date, I figured it might be worth getting a head start in case they do play something else from the album.  No excuses, just the way my head was thinking.  I know the rules and should have known better.

Cool Chris

Count me in as one of those who has never gets around to listening to an album before it drops, even on the rare occasion I know how to :lol
Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

faizoff

The delivery status says I should get the album on Thursday, I'm hoping it arrives earlier. I'd like to listen to the bluray first.

Anyone knows how many songs are 7 string guitars and how many are 6 strings?
The overture we know it's an 8 string.

BeatriceNB

I had a dream I got to listen to Parasomnia, but I was really curious about the last two songs, so I played Bend The Clock directly. To my (dream) surprise, the song was 10 minutes long, and it started with a 1:1 copy of the intro to If I Could Be A Constellation by kessoku band, played by Petrucci, and Portnoy played fills similar to those in ANTR (during the riff before LaBrie enters). Next, the song had some Prog-y stuff in A minor, followed by a dark first verse (something akin to the first verse of Awaken The Master) in F# minor, with slow 8-string chugging.

Can't remember anything else from it :lol I specifically remember it was those keys, and I woke up trying to figure out how to modulate between them smoothly, as I can't remember how Dream Theater did it :mehlin

In the dream I was confused why DT would ripoff kessoku band of all bands, guess Portnoy or Petrucci secretly are anime enjoyers :justjen

Haha, yeah who knows.  I'm not bothered though if I'm the last to hear it, it's only another week so it's all good.

Quote from: SeRoX on January 31, 2025, 02:19:23 PMYou can argue if IM is their best or one of the best epics but to me, it surely is most interesting epic song composition wise.

Those abbreviations are hard work in general, but when 50% is a typo, it's even more of a riddle.

Or I completely missed Invisible Monster being that good.

nobloodyname

I've never quite understood how it can be quicker to think of the abbreviation of some songs and type/tap them out rather than just spelling them out fully.

If they do have to be shortened, I much prefer the Metallica way of doing it. Everyone knows what song Bellz is.

the_silent_man

Based on those recent LaBrie and Myung interviews, can we deduct now that LaBrie wrote lyrics also for Bend the Clock and no Myung lyrics this time (which is a shame)?

It will be interesting to see if there's another Portnoy lyric. It would also be nice to have a collaboration again on the epic as we'll, a la Octavarium. But I'm thinking this is unlikely.

There was a conversation the other day where it took me a while to find out ToT wasn't Train of Thought, but Trial of Tears. 'Tearz' would be much easier indeed.

(Although one could argue we're talking about the Wu Tang song)...

Yeah, this needed to be said, I completely agree.

"I'd like to see again live Tuscany, Glass Moon and Root" flows much better for example.

Might be the best interview I've seen thus far.

Forgot to add, the last question asked pertained to the song list selection from the 5 albums MP was not on. Doesn't sound like they're discussing swapping BSW or TITL for other MM era tunes: "we're kind of content with what we're doing so far."

Both those songs are among 2 of my fav Mangini era songs so I'm hoping they just stay for the North American tour. If they change out that era of songs I hope they wait until the setlist changes on the 2nd leg.

gzarruk

Here's hoping they do at least two other MM songs for the proper Parasomnia tour.

Anyone that preordered on inside out's website get a shipping notification yet? The anticipation is killing me 😂

What MM songs would you like to see live? I don't think they'd do a 10+ minutes MM song like BAI, sooo my picks are Trascending Time, when your Time has come, a life left behind, surrender to reason.
No cringe? No prog.

TheBarstoolWarrior

MP has full latitude to choose what he wants so it'll just be whatever he feels is right going forward, if anything. He could decide to retire the entire 5 album catalogue if he wanted.

This would be straight disrespectful to DT's history and the fans. Ignoring almost more than 10 years and five albums is a different thing. I don't think MP would do that.
