Saw this pop up this morning on YouTube with Jordan hearing "The Woven Web" for the first time (which I was a bit surprised because this was the second to last song on the dreamsonic AAL tour). I thought he did a pretty great job, added a lot of cool atmosphere.

I'd have titled this "Jordan Rudess hasn't heard Animals as Leaders despite touring with them".

I said this in the comment section on YouTube, but the keys added so much to this song.

Jordan breaks down the dance of eternity!

I tried to make a split recording with Jordan's and Mike's Drumeo video but synchronizing the audio of the two was a bit too much for my skills, haha
I still think that doing it would be nice to watch.

That was a fun vid, still, I noticed a few stutter steps, most notably here: https://youtu.be/LUknLohfN48?si=cHGKRhRWo1fiovKX&t=807

No reason to get hung up about it, Jordan is at an unreal level for any age group, let alone for someone who's pushing 70 in a couple of years. Might just be that he wasn't properly warmed up, as he alluded to it, might be that it's weird to play to the backing track. Still, DT being past their peak as far as instrumental ability is a thought I've yet to come to grips with.

The fact that he heard them the first time after they opened for him is pretty shocking. I guess he doesn't pay very much attention to who opens for the band, which is another reason why I'll be glad to have Mike back.

He successfully killed the song.
He sure did.

I don't even like Tenacious D, but he kind of ruined the song.

Cool? Seems like he figured out the song was in E minor and just shredded a lot over it.

Wow, that was terrible :lol. He seems like he put zero effort into it, but then again this pretty much what his work sounds like these days.

Yeah this one wasn't great, but it was also a bad choice of song. There really wasn't much room for him to do much beyond shred. With the Rhianna song, he was able to have fun with the instrument layers, and with the Animals as Leaders song, he was able to add textures on top of the song to add some more harmonic content to a very riff based song.
