As the title says: which Music Video by the band would you most like to see on MTV (or at least a version of MTV that still played music videos)?
"I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it."
― Terry Pratchett

Lie is the least bad of the ones I've seen. Though come to think of it I like The Gift of Music one ok.

I'll need to go back and watch a lot of these so I'll vote later but right of the bat I'm inclined to say A Rite of Passage. Not only is it the best song off of an underwhelming album, it also sums up what I think music videos should have. A bit of the band performing but also a concept. Bonus points for the concept actually fitting with the music.

TAC

I literally have no idea what most of these videos even look like.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

Same. Aren't some of them (I assume the more recent ones) just visuals without the band? I dunno.

I can barely remember what a few of these were like, and have no desire to rewatch them all. I had no idea they even had so many!

It's Another Day. The scene where James pushing a chair is intense.

Yeah but that type of violence towards furniture doesn't fly in today's society.

Wither is my favorite.

It's not my favorite song by a long shot, but it's my favorite video.

I also kind of like The Silent Man with DT walking around a farm and performing the song in a barn.

Same.  I think the last one I saw was for The Looking Glass (which I liked, so I voted for it).  That one and Forsaken and the first six are the only ones I can really recall.

EDIT:  Just watched Wither, which I had seen, and which is just a bunch of (mostly dreary) "on the road" footage that has nothing to do with the song.

Wither. It was well done and I think it fits the music pretty well.

Cool Chris

I believe the first 6 are on the Live in Tokyo/Livetime DVDs correct? Getting those films are the first time I ever saw any of those videos. I know I have seen a couple of the other ones, but remember absolutely nothing about most of them, which is not good commentary.

I'd have to pick either Wither or Lie as those are the only two I can recall liking, with Another Day and Take the Time being runners-up.
Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

Madman Shepherd

Shouldn't The Alien and Answering the Call also be on here?

Wither is my favorite.

It's not my favorite song by a long shot, but it's my favorite video.

I usually am not a videoguy but Wither was the first that came to mind, as being a simple, but very nice video. I like the background recordings far more than the scifi Alien-style.
