Cool Chris

Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

As time passes and no updates are given, we don't know what to talk about in this thread, as we all see.

Other expressions I hate:

Peachy...or even worse..Ducky

Quote from: pg1067 on September 11, 2024, 08:54:08 AMI don't mind those (although I'm not sure I've ever heard an actual human say "ducky"), but "I was today years old when I found out..." makes me irrationally angry.  It sounds like something those football players voiced by little kids in the Gummi Bears commercial would say.

OH!!!! When I saw TAC talking about expressions he hates, that was the first thing that came to mind.   I HATE that.  That and "[something something] be like..."

That and the predilection to make nouns into verbs. "This is how you football".  No, this is how you sound like a fucking idiot.  ;) :) :) :)  I kid, of course (about the "idiot").

To TAC: for the record, I DO say that a lot, and I don't particularly like that expression myself, I just don't know how else to say it succinctly.

When something mildly irritating happens, my son and I will say to each other, "it be like that sometimes."  I'm fairly confident I would never say that to anyone else, though.   :)

Not a real update, but Jordan says in this new interview that it'll take a while for us to get DT16 updates. Don't know when the interview was recorded, but it was published yesterday, so who knows.

Man, I really thought we would hear something before the tour, but it's seeming more and more like "40th Anniversary Tour" means "We'll get to the album once this is done"

nobloodyname

I was thinking that a couple of days ago. I'm wondering if it's going to be released following the conclusion of the 40th anniversary tour. Bit anti-climactic, really, in terms of MP's return to the band. I would have preferred the album being released and this tour being in support of it.

But hoooo boy, I am really looking forward to seeing them in London, Paris and New York. That doesn't sound too bad, does it? I had goosebumps on my bike ride yesterday thinking about the start of the London show.

The anticipation is killing me (also because I hate flying lol), but man I'm so stoked. Only 37 days! (In a row?)

nobloodyname

Haha! I love flying but I've only flown once since Covid. Very much looking forward to jumping on that Virgin A350 in March.

I'll see them in Köln, Germany (third gig) and Amsterdam. From O2 London I will not visit the forum 'til I've seen the set myself.

I red that Mike Portnoy bringed in studio two drums kits in one for this new album. Is it his Siamese Monster or is it his Purple Monster?

Is it the same kit that Mike Portnoy used for the album "Six degrees of inner turbulence"?

Thank you, Mark.

I imagine an album with six tracks. Indeed, on the Dream Theater's Facebook page, the 16th of March 2024, Mike Portnoy posted a message, where he told that the band composed five songs and the members will stat to compose next song a few days after. The writing for the album was finished the 28th of March 2024. Here's the reason I suppose the album will contain six tracks.

Ben_Jamin

They could split up the tracks, making the album more than 6 tracks.

Welcome to the forums!

Perhaps they are taking their time here because they are figuring out what parts belong to which songs. thank you

Of course, that's possible.

In an ainterview, Jordan Rudess pronounce the words "film director", talking about Mike Portnoy. I hope it will be a documentary's film, about the writing's process and the composition's process of this futur album.
