Well this came out of nowhere!! Really hoping they bring it to the UK too. I guess this answers the "when's the US tour?" questions!! I imagine as a "festival" that'll mean 3 full sets rather than a 30 min set from Devin and AAL?

Not a massive fan of Bridgeport, but I'll be there June 30!  Great news today!

Buddyhunter1

If this is what it takes for there to be another Devin Townsend NA tour, hell fucking yeah! :metal Dream Theater and Devin on the same bill has been kind of a dream of mine, honestly. (oh and Animals As Leaders is fine too I guess)

3 bands isn't much of a festival, though. :lol Wonder if the format will be different or if they'll add more bands.

I'm assuming this will be at the new Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater. Have you been there yet? I saw two shows there after it opened in 2021 and it was an awesome venue. Two beers cost us $39, but the venue itself was stellar.

Ben_Jamin

OMG...I think I'm having a concert overload.

I'll be there in Phoenix.

What do you mean?  6 songs each means a almost 3 hour set per band!

Mladen

This is really cool, hopefully doing a festival like this results in a boost of attendance.  :tup

I'm very excited.  My two favorite DT's on the same bill. Even though they are marketing it as a festival, there's no reason to think this is anything other than a 3 band tour.  Like they are playing a theater in NYC.  They most certainly aren't renting it out for anything longer than a normal concert.  If anything this reminds me mostly of Progressive Nation tour.

Also, I've been stating for a long time that I wished DT would go back to touring with other bands and it looks like my wish has been granted.  This looks like a great package for the US IMO.

Tuscany is the code for the Austin/Cedar Park show for today's presale. Give it a try for other venues.

gzarruk

That's a nice bill! It'll be great for those attending for sure :tup

I'm kind of curious what makes it a "festival" rather than just a concert with, admittedly, 2 really great openers.

ProgNation never really felt like a festival to me, because there were only 4 bands, mostly indoor venues without anything extra or special about them.

Anyway, love the lineup, and will probably get a ticket, but just want to see a few more details first.

Deadeye21

Oh goodie. They didn't add any Australian dates on a year long tour so  thatthey could tour North America and Canada again.

Thanks COVID. You really screwed us over. We lost out on Scenes from a Memory, but we also don't get to see the band again at all to compensate.

OptionalPlayer

Any idea the price? Hoping to get tickets for Hamilton.

Should find out in 40 minutes when the presale starts

dream416

WOOHOO......July 5th Hamilton ON.  :metal

Deadeye21

Oh, and to add insult to injury, they've actually got a date on my birthday.

Anguyen92

The Inglewood show is at the horribly named Youtube Theater.  It's mostly seated as well.  I was hoping for Greek Theater for the SoCal show. Accommodations like parking and shuttle are so much better priced there than it is at the Forum/Youtube Theater/SoFi Stadium area.

Front row in Austin!  Let the waiting begin.  I hope DT's set is still 2 hours even with having two openers.

I hope this is the case, but I'm expecting to minus 15 minutes off all those times.

Oof at the prices, definitely sitting in the back for NYC  :lol

Highly doubt this.  NYC show starts at 7pm.

Animals as Leaders: 30 minutes
Devin Townsend: 45-50 minutes
Dream Theater: 90-100 minutes

with typical stoppage between bands, that ends the show around 10:45 which is normal for a 7pm start.

Don't think it'll go that long, at least in Austin.  Many of the downtown venues have an 11:00 curfew.  Don't know if that applies to Cedar Park since it's north of the city, but wouldn't be surprised as it's near residential neighborhoods.

I'll be good with AAL - 45, Devin - 1 hr, DT - 2 hr.  Hopefully the set change times are quick.

Lonk

That was annoying, the site kept crashing when I was trying to buy tickets, but got them  :metal

Never care for AAL, though I've seen them in concert. Like Devin's music, but never seen him before, so it should be interesting  :corn

Ayeegit

Anyone come across any additional codes, beyond Tuscany and Social? Trying to see what the Denver tickets are going to cost, but neither of those seem to work for that show...

Agreed on all. Butfor me, I went with the $79 "cheap" ticket because:
1) Not a fan of either opening band
2) NO MP = DT"lite"
3) Can relax and just watch the show :corn

would have MUCH rathered Symphony X & Redemption opening, but whatever.

I'm a big Devin Townsend fan, but still find this show to be a bit much considering I paid $120 to see them in front row just last year.  Also they aren't even selling the back sections. I expect to be there, but I'm not buying a ticket anytime soon likely.
