TAC

And I'd love to know the start times of each band.

Same.

I'm just gonna wait until before I go to bed to check the setlist.

MrMike

I'm inside at the show.  Just a big Dreamsonic banner behind the drums.  No sign of the View backdrop from last tour.

If that is what the entire stage production will be for all the bands, I am all for that. That alone would show that it's an entirely different tour separate from their tour for the recent album. If there is also no video screen, it would then be reminiscent of how the I&W&B tour stage production was. If so, this makes me think we may be getting something interesting.

Let us know how it goes, and how long each bands set is if possible. But most of all, just enjoy the show.  :metal :metal

I mean, that's what they said, but jeez, that's a lot.

Shadow2222

Sheesh, yeah, I'm honestly seriously wondering if each band will just play 50-60 mins. I mean, there can't be that much more without it going crazy long after set/equipment changes? I wish they would have just started the "festival" earlier in the day

MrMike

Devin right at an hour.  I still don't quite get his music, but as a performer, holy shit.  Maniac!  DT has a tough act to follow.

MrMike

Always loved Mike Kenneally and he and Devin together are brilliant!

MrMike

Place is about 40% full.  Maybe 3,000.  Stage is set for DT.

EPIC Outro

Still just the Dreamsonic banner on stage?

Shadow2222

Thanks for the updates! Looking forward to Devin live

Ben_Jamin

I'm really hyped for what the setlists look like for all three bands. I am one of the few apparently that is excited to see all three bands. I am mainly excited for what songs AAL pulled out, there's some that I have been wishing they'd play, but have not been played at all.

This sucks. 3000 isn't really a bad crowd. But when you're playing a 8000 seat venue...

I am an odd person with music as it's hard for me to have a favorite band. But if you ask me I'd say Dream Theater, as they're a band I know all the songs and love pretty much all their output. Coincidentally, Devin could very well be next as I do enjoy a lot of his stuff. The way I consider bands my favorites are if I'd go see them anytime they tour.

Deadeye21

How long til first song you reckon?

Ben_Jamin

Deadeye21

Wonder if they've started up with The Alien again or if this will be something different.

I'm sure of it. If they didn't then I'd be happy and even more excited.

Deadeye21

If the setlist I found is accurate, I'm glad I'm not going.

They basically played what was expected...

First Dreamsonic is in the books and I had a blast.  Obviously I could've handled 3 hours of DT, but their set didn't feel too short to me.

Yes, they did about what we expected in terms of setlist, but it really did feel different from last year with the swaps.  In fact, I thought it flowed better.  Light show is also better and more noticeable.

We got an impromptu Mangini drum solo to due to an unfortunate technical mishap that ruined the end of one song.

And the encore......O.M.G!  The song itself may not be special, but the way it's performed, you will not want to miss it!

A very well rounded show.  I would love to see another one.

MrMike

And I was incorrect when I said there was a banner behind the stage.  It was actually an LED projection screen and the Dreamsonic logo was the first thing they had up.  DT had their full video show.  Devin just had his logo.  AAL had nothing.

I saw and I am still excited.

Who knew the last song including guest bands.

For night 1, it was Animals As Leaders at 7:00, Devin around 8:10 and DT at 9:30.

If you like all three, you will have a GREAT time!  I won't rush out to buy an AAL CDs (or Devin for that matter), but I do appreciate what they do, especially Tosin and Matt.  Love some heavy grooving funk metal now and then.  Their sound was way too loud at first, but got crystal clear by the end.  Devin was all kinds of fun even without knowing his music.  And it was great seeing another badass up there with him in Mike Keneally (sp?).  DT started out perfect sound wise, then got a little too loud by the end.  But they all looked like they were having fun and James was full of energy.  I heard him miss a few high notes of course, but I thought he was fine for the most part.  To me, there's too many other great musicians on the stage to obsess over him.

MrMike

I just posted my front row clip of the encore on YT.  Not sharing the link here so that no one who *doesn't* want to see the ending can accidentally click on it.     But it came out pretty good I must say, so look for it if you don't mind being spoiled.

WOW!!!

That was great.
And, again, JP lead tone is just insane.

Set is exactly what most of us were thinking but I'm glad to see what they are doing for an encore. I guess no one updated Devins set though

That's really awesome, normally spirit carries on is a bathroom song for me but it'll be worth sticking around.
