The guest list for Repentance is cool.

The Astonishing is a very ambitious project.

MirrorMask

EPIC Outro

Someone did this by album, so I guess I will do the same:

Status Seeker: I was going to say I liked the "Can you show me your gold and your silver?" line... But then I realized that is from a different song. So I'm at a loss! I suppose the chorus is catchy.

Take the Time: I like how James says "Time" on "No one to save you this time."

Lie: The Mirror reprise is awesome!

Trial of Tears: Catchy chorus.

Through My Words: Overall a pleasant passage, just really short!

The Test that Stumped Them All: The crowd noise after "Intro tape begins to roll" is a nice energetic pop.

Honor Thy Father: The "Don't cross the crooked step" sample sounds cool.

Panic Attack: Having come to know someone who suffers from panic attacks, I 'get' the lyrics more than I used to.

Repentance: The outro is EPIC!

Wither: The piano version is lovely and should have been the album version.

Lost Not Forgotten: Lots of nostalgia for the cruise I was on when I first heard this song!

Enigma Machine: the Count of Tuscany part!

Losing Faith: Cringey sound effects are the only detractor from an otherwise fine song.

Viper King: It's fun!

Awaken the Master: It reminds me of After Forever or Revamp for some reason!

Despite being my least favorites, I love all these songs!

The Curious Orange

The Astonishing (entire album): The cover art is quite nice.

Volante99

You Not Me has a cool, funky guitar breakdown- kind of a rare style for JP.

Dublagent66

Never Enough because when I don't listen, it's fucking awesome! :lol

Is it, though?

Reminds me of cover art from PC game... from 1995.

Well i can't think of anything else nice to say about it!

Ben_Jamin

It has a catchy vocal melody with the chorus, "Nothing is sacred".

The Ones Who Help to Set the Sun: I like the title and I like the intro.

Ha, glad to see others who aren't enthused by this song either. I don't think it's necessarily a bad song or one that even bothers when I listen to it... it just isn't memorable to me. I've listened to WDaDU A LOT over the years, more so earlier on as I was getting obsessively into DT, yet I can't recall any lines of lyrics, melodies, or guitar parts to that song... All that I remember is the mellow intro with the sad Kevin Moore keyboards. Gun to my head right now, I couldn't tell you a *single* word from the lyrics, can't even remember if the title is in the lyrics (my guess is that it is, only because all the other songs from WDaDU do)... How is it possible that this is the *only* DT song in their main studio album catalog that just doesn't hold my attention when it's playing???

You don't even like JP's solo in that song? I mean it's got pretty nice melodies going in the verses too.

Dublagent66

When I think of Illumination Theory, I'm reminded of a much better song that it tries to emulate and I listen to SDOIT instead. :p

The music-only (non-lyrical) parts of The Count of Tuscany and A Nightmare to Remember are very good.

ReaPsTA

Never Enough has a great drum mix

The music in You Not Me is catchy

The intro and outro to the Count of Tuscany is amongst the best work DT has ever done but the seemingly endless volume swell JP solo just kills the song for me.

Far From Heaven shares a melody with BAI.

It's (FFH) only redeeming quality probably.

Repentance has a great JP solo.  Another subpar song with a redeeming quality.

The Silent Man is part of a very good suite of songs ;D
