It's actually an illusion. Cause at first - to the ear it LOOKS like a cube. But what's actually going on is - it's actually a 7 sided tesseract. Such. That. Each SIDE of 7 SIDES as it were are all facing a different plane and what that does is has the effect of making the listener or OBSERVER not quite SURE of where each SIDE begins

or end. SUCH THAT each time it goes around it's on a different PLANE.

I am with you guys.  I will hold off judgment until I hear the whole song, but I am on record as being much more concerned with melody and songs rather than chops and METAL, so the teaser didn't do a lot for me, but I am sure what I am waiting for will be there once we hear the whole song.

Hard to say anything how good the song is out of 30 sec. Remember people were worried about «Bridges»...on ADTOE after hearing a snippet, but it turned out to be one of the best songs. We'll know more on the album's vibe on Friday anyway given the songs lenght.

This is the best lead single snippet from DT that I have heard, really brings my hopes up for this album

On the other hand, DT can really put some crazy snippets (e.g. The Astonishing) and the album ends up feeling completely differently to what you expected.

As long as there are plenty of those very tense sections (like in the snippet) which keep you on the edge of your seat until they resolve into something crazy, I will be extremely happy

Typically the first single ends up being my least favorite from the album. This may break that tradition because this sounds awesome.

Honestly, I'm not being facetious, but I'm surprised nobody has complained about the drums. I think they sound great and for lack of a better term, really "crack." Just in your face, loud, and precise. This may be the perfect followup to Distance Over Time in the sense that it continues the awesome sounds, songwriting, and energy.
