I see JP is listed for backing vocals, maybe he recorded some as well?

When I go to the Live Nation site for the March 22, 2019 LA show, the "on sale countdown" timer shows 3 days, 11 hours and 40 minutes (and X seconds).  It is currently 10:19 a.m. local time on Tuesday.  If this timer is accurate, it means tickets go on sale at 10 p.m. on Friday evening.

That can't be right, can it?

By contrast, the timer for the March 21, 2019 LA show indicates tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday morning.

10 PM to get the general sale tickets?  That can't be right.  Should be 10 AM on Friday.  Yeah, I'll probably get tickets.  Looks like price range for floor is $39.50 - $99.50 and there are five sections.  Does the second section have the $39.50 pricing?  If so, including fees, the tickets should come out to around $55.00.  I probably get a ticket if the second section is priced like that.  If it is more than that like over $65.00 for level 2, I'm probably going to pass on the show.  I'm priced out like that.

Here's the seating section of the GA for Wiltern.

Interesting.  Never been there.

Me either. Oh, and caution...I thought it was the Nob Hill Theater, so I googled and clicked before paying attention. DO NOT DO THAT.  :lol

I don't know how it will price out.  I had a seat in the middle of the mezzanine level for the I&W&B tour.  It wasn't bad, but I felt very high up.  If you click the "shop platinum level" seats, they have seats in the first three rows ranging from $190-240 (plus fees).  First row of level 2 is $180 (plus fees).  I'm thinking long and hard about one of those.

Did not know pre-sale had started already. Just purchased my NY Tickets. Pretty good seats too, it might be the best seats I had for a DT show! Very exciting.

Also, That teaser posted on youtube sounds great, I am really hyped for this album.

What is it?, Can't watch it here in Canada
It's a clip from Conan's official YouTube channel, featuring Gritty - a mascot which 'Destiny of Chaos' has as avatar.

So, unless you love Conan/weird comedy, you are not missing anything. ;)

Unfortunately. That is one of the reasons I left the field.
It's really a shame.
Interesting post, thanks. Part of what you talk about reminded me of the 'Linkalist' sketches in Portlandia.

Just bought my two tickets for the Chicago show!!! First Dream Theater Concert (and first concert ever)!!!!!! :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal

I know the band has little control over the ticket cost, but it is really high, at least in San Fran. 90 bucks for a decent seat, otherwise 40 for nosebleeds. I wasn't planning on going this time around, since I just saw them last year on the Images tour. But 90 bucks for a good seat seems awfully high.

Thank goodness I saw the original Metropolis Pt. 2 Scenes from a Memory tour at Roseland in NY. February 26, 2000. Great gig too. "Home" was especially intense that night.

I just noticed that Ben Grosse mixed two songs from California, the latest album by blink-182 (one of my favourite bands) released two years ago. :) It's obviously not the same genre but, if you want to check out some recent examples of his work:
You can also check the songs out in Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/album/4wuYQ9hyF1EGmrtjMpgpE9

Got my VIP/tickets to LA!!  :metal    Who has been to the Wiltern? What is parking like and the neighborhood?  March is forevaaaah away!!!

As for Tom Baker - last year he mastered Jei beibi, the latest album by Café Tacvba (a great Mexican band); again, different genres, but it might help form an opinion? (In any event, it's cool music to listen to):

I always enjoyed Ben Grosse's work. Alter Bridge, Sevendust, Dark New Day, all records by them that I love. I THINK Ben mixed all three of them. (One Day Remains, Animosity, Twelve Year Silence, respectively, by each of the bands.)

Yeah i'm optimistic about the mix this time. This guy has a pretty good track record. Hopefully the album will have dynamics and won't be brickwalled to death.

Agreed. Interested to hear Ben's influence on the overall sound.

I suppose it's one of those cases where we shouldn't judge the Youtube audio because Youtube audio is usually bad?

Where is the Philly show?  Would be helpful if they actually released the venues along with the dates...

ETA: Looks like Tower Theater.

Anyone know the pre-sale passwords?  I don't live in that area so I wouldn't normally be receiving any info about shows there, but will be making a road trip for this one.

Anyone with a CITI card able to say how much tix are for this venue?

TheOutlawXanadu

I missed this announcement last week, but just wanted to chime in and say that I love the new album cover. I am sad that they are not coming to Raleigh, but will almost certainly buy a Charlotte ticket.

Can't help you for Toronto, but I just got the email with the NYC live nation code so I guess they are starting to circulate
