Hmmm....is Myungs riff the song that ended up being song 10?

That, or the bonus track.

Seems JM steered a lot of this albums musical ideas. In the Pt. 2 video, MM said JM playing his riff caused at least 3 other songs to be created.  I hope the mixing and mastering gives us some great bass sounds and tones in these songs!

He does say though they never used that riff, until MM said we need to record that riff.

I can't understand a damn thing of what JMX is saying. Cmon DT you're not a newcomer, just set up a *good* camera and 1-2 *good* mics.
It's cool that they did these interviews, but it's starting to make me mad that they seem to have been recorded with a potato

noxon

As someone who has recorded interviews with many people - JM is the hardest to record. He's so soft spoken, and even if I had an OK setup with mics and whatnot, it wasnt sufficient.

They said the song they did with the JM riff was a long song. I don't see a long song being used as a bonus track on a DT album, but I guess we'll see (yes, we shall see).

Part 2 of the interview came quicker than I expected. It wasn't even a full week! Now I am even more anxious, lol.

Posted on their Facebook page too. I get it's all meant to be a joke, and that the band themselves didn't post this, it was their community manager, but I hope they just let this die. Like many have said the concept isn't original at all, and we've been finding more and more flaws with Syme's work with every release, posting this will only make things worse.

gzarruk

People are already posting that Circus Maximus album cover on the comments section of that post.

"DT copied Circus Maximus, so whatever"
"DT copied Shakespeare"

This is only generating bad talk against DT. Whoever posted this should meet JP's fist lol.

I'm getting phenomenally good vibes about this album already. The fact that all five of them wrote and recorded it together in the same room, bouncing ideas off each other in the same physical space, should make for a truly refreshing album experience.

Best part is the top 4 comments....  :lol

:lol looks like hes gone to twitter to say what he cant say here

What happened to him? why did he go?

Kotowboy?  :lol :lol

BTW, regarding the NYT vs. DOT issue, interesting how the "imitation is the highest form of flattery" is placed exactly the same way, but sounds much lighter in the band's official profile than in Jacobi's. Could be just my impression...

cramx3

Well yea, because there wasn't anything extra like from Jacobi's.  Personally I think it's great.  But seems like Jacobi's tweet wasn't some off the rails DT member but something possibly organized by the band/management.

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but I just found this Q&A video. Sorry if this is all common knowledge already ;)

What if a song on the new album is called "Speed"? that would be, so to speak, a "mathematical title track" and something very geeky  :D

Taking out the math, that woud be somehow similar to what they did with Stream of Consciousness and Train of Thought... I suppose..

was it speed, or velocity?

Speed is distance over time (technically the derivative of the distance with respect to time), whereas velocity is displacement over time (same caveat as previously).

To add to this, displacement is the separation from your starting point. If you start at point A, run 5 miles to point B, then 5 miles back to point A, your displacement is 0 miles. The distance traveled is 10 miles.

There is another date of summer festival in Czech Republic. Between 11-14.July.

Two recent InsideOut Instagram stories feature Jordan and John P. humming two melodies from the new album. I transcribed what I heard:

Bosk: I found a way of watching those two videos without needing to log in to Instagram or having an account. May I share the links here? Or would that be against the rules?

As long as they are not set to private, I don't see any issue.
Well, I'm not too familiar with Instagram. I did make an account an hour ago, to see if there are songtitles in the stories.

The complete stories can be watched by anyone as long as they are logged in on Instagram - whether they follow InsideOut or not.

However, the links to the individual short videos in the stories can be obtained in the source code, or inspecting the page. Again, sort of 'brute forcing', but not really. (It would be Instagram's fault, I guess.)

So, what do you say?

gzarruk

The IO Insta account has now saved those stories on their profile, so we can access them at any time, no need to go the source code :tup

Yes, but (at least as far as I can see) it's not possible to link to the individual videos of them humming, without going to the source code. And, you can link to the stories, but only people logged in will be able to watch them.

That's why I figured I'd ask Bosk if we'd be allowed to share the individual links here.

As someone who took 2 weeks of music theory in high school, I appreciate that your Treble clefs and Bass clefs follow the rules of drawing those clefs (the inside curl of the treble clef should land on G, and the inside curl of the bass clef should land on F, with the dots surrounding the F).

After listening, I agree with your notation, but suggest the four eighth notes in the 9/8 measure should be broken up into one eighth note, and a grouping of 3. Other suggestion, accents in Jordan's piece. It's giving me a cantina vibe from Star Wars.

I'm not going to encourage it.  But if it did happen to get posted, I wouldn't ban anybody over it.
