The Shattered Fortress followed closely by Erotomania. TSF wins for the sheer fact that is contains all of the awesome bombastic qualities of DT, with some of JLB's best vocals (both "look in the mirror..." and "I am responsible...") and one of JP's most killing solos. It's one hell of an eargasm.

I *love* the song, and right next to it would be "Hollow Years" as two of my favorite 4th Tracks. Throw in "Erotomania", "The Great Debate" and "Surrounded" you have my top five 4th tracks!

While they are all great, except TMW, I would be lying if I didn't say The Shattered Fortress.

TGD and Surrounded come close, though.

This has pointed out to me that position 4 is one of the more weaker slots on most DT albums.

Anyone count Test that Stumped Them All?

No, because that's just the fourth movement of one song. But if you want to be stupidly picky, it's really track 9 of SDoIT.

Was going to do live tracks to, and Surrounded appears in the fourth track slot on Chaos In Motion and Live at the Marquee and I'd lump those versions in with the Images and Words version. Hollow Years appears fourth on Budokan and I'd put it with the FII version. Both great!

#1) Surrounded (Images and Words)
#2) Erotomania (Awake) as a whole I'd put A Mind Beside Itself above surrounded, but this is single track.
#3) Hollow Years (Falling Into Infinity)

Non of the other fours stick out too much for me...
