Might as well start a thread for those (like me) hoping to go to this show. :)

Espero que todo salga bien y pueda viajar a Buenos Aires el mes que viene. Sería mi segundo show de Dream Theater al que voy (el primero fue en Marzo 2008), y el primero con la formación actual. ¿Alguien más planea ir?

I'm really enjoying these videos, they're the best ones we've got so far.
You mean quality-wise, or performance-wise? I was there, so I'm curious as to how other people perceive the audience.

By the way, I loved the show! The sound at the beginning wasn't very good, but in "A Better Life" it got better and then it was very good. Some people complained that JM's bass wasn't audible in some important moments (such as the mini solo spot in "Dystopian Overture", and in "Our New World" during the guitar doubling), but overall it was OK.

I was very happy that I got to see them replicate the "The Walking Shadow" ending (my favourite section in the album). Furthermore, I liked some of the songs a lot more than I liked them when listening to the album. Particularly, "Chosen" and "Losing Faythe". The lights during "Act Of Faythe" and "The X Aspect" were very beautiful too.

I even found myself sort of 'dancing' with my head, in songs like "Begin Again" and "Our New World". All in all, a beautiful experience!

(Too bad I was distracted a few times by this idiot who kept smoking during the show, which made me angry and nervous that something would happen. I even told the Security lady about it, but she didn't do anything.)

Both.  :tup

This was posted today, by MOVE Concerts (the production team behind the band's last visit):

A short summary of the band's show last week. The audio/video is high-quality, and taken directly from the show.

Wow, that accidental vocal harmony at 0:35 turned out amazing, now I wish they did it on the album.  :lol

It got me thinking - maybe they did it on the album, but it's buried in the mix and I haven't payed attention. It's obvious they've been using backing tracks on the shows, so that's a possibility.

Or, maybe it was JP who sang that harmony. I remember him singing on his own microphone stand a few times.

I still can't believe that James sang the 'rap' in "The Path That Divides" and the ending on "The Walking Shadow" perfectly. Both sections are really fast/complex, but he did them with ease :)

Mladen

I think they slapped together the album version and the live recording of the show, in which James maybe sang that part higher. So it ended up sounding amazing.  :lol

Darkstarshades

Yes, if you check recordings of that show, you can clearly hear that James did sing that line like that, and it sounded amazing.

So there are companies filming this on a "professional" level (that MOVE productions clip and the Our New World video), I wonder if DT are testing the water for a DVD shoot?

I was thinking this the other day. Maybe they will include these candid, 'behind-the-scenes' clips as part of a docummentary on the tour. I understand there was the intention of doing a full show including live orchestra & choir (with Campbell conducting?), and that that show would be recorded. I might be wrong though.
