The Mirror
The Glass Prison
This Dying Soul
The Root of All Evil
Repentance
The Shattered Fortress

1. TGP. Love the fade-in from SFAM static and then it just rocks after that.
2. The Mirror. That simply low B riff does it for me.
3. TROAE
4. TDS
5. TSF.

150. Repentance. I borderline hate this song.

Repentance, one of the first DT songs i discovered and liked. It's a tie with TGP, but I supported one of the most hated songs here :D
The Mirror is also great, and I like even the other three, all good songs here for me

Dublagent66

TGP of course.  The Mirror is great, but not an AA suite song.

The Glass Prison is the best them :metal

I like pretty much every song in the suite, though This Dying Soul is easily my last favorite. I am also eternally irked that the fade out for The Shattered Fortress ruined the symmetrical nature of the suite by bringing back the intro drums from TROAE

Very difficult choice between TGP and The Mirror but The Mirror edges out.

1. The Mirror
2. The Glass Prison
3. The Root of All Evil

4. This Dying Soul

5. The Shattered Fortress
6. Repentance

I think he meant that "The Shattered Fortress" should end with the references to "The Glass Prison" (the riffs & the white noise) since that's how the suite starts.

I agree with Axeman - the weird electronic, NOMAC-ish sounds at the end had already been recycled at the end of "Octavarium". I guess Mike probably wanted to include them as well in the suite, but yeah, the symmetrical aspect isn't 100% because of that.

The Root of All Evil

TGP 'would' be .....except for the rap/vocals bit.

All of the rest...<dodging bullets>....are really, really, really terrible.  I am an older fan, but I 'think' I know good music.  I just cannot listen to any of them from start to finish.  I will start to play one of them, .... skip spots, or just move on to the next track.  In another thread, I mentioned that it was ironic that an AA song (The Shattered Fortress) was the only time I left a DT concert to get a drink.

Even The Mirror (which was included in this poll?)

Amazing tier:
1. The Mirror
2. The Glass Prison

Really great tier:
3. The Root of All Evil

Good, would be great with a few changes:
4. The Shattered Fortress (I wish the connection between the previous songs' reprises was smoother and not as cheesy, or alternatively more original parts like the last instrumental section and the "I am responsible" section that follows it).
5. This Dying Soul (like many other songs in ToT, and maybe more than the rest of them, it's a little too "DT tries to be more edgy than they are" and I don't like some of the sections there. Particularly the rap...thing).

Bottom 5 DT songs for me, and songs that I genuinely dislike:
6. Repentance (ugh.)

Architeuthis

TROAE, followed closely by TGP. then SF, TDS..   Repentance is by far the weakest.

The Mirror is about the same subject but I don't think it's part of the suite.

Exactly, let's imagine that a young unknown filmmaker by the name of George Lucas does a short, standalone mini movie about sci-fi, it doesn't mean that it belongs to the Star Wars saga when he eventually develops it.

And if my analogy would be actually true, let's go find that indie movie because if it's good as much as The Mirror is, it's a gem of a movie  ;D

I like to think of it as The Hobbit to the Twelve-Step Suite's Lord of the Rings.
