I thought it was really easy to read the lyrics. I thought the problem was with the white-on-white liner notes (though even then, I don't find it that difficult to read).

Yep, packaging and whatnot in general for this album was pretty awful. Stapling the booklet to the inside of the CD case and the white on white on liner notes must have been decided by someone who has never owned a CD or left their brain at home that day.

He's talking about the vinyls - not the CD release that we already knew was not up to par. It's sad to hear that the vinyl release also suffers from poor design decisions.

It's not as bad as in the booklet. But the gatefold for Act 1 is Ravenskill and it's hard to read the lyrics that are near the trees. The sky isn't horrible. The gatefold for Act 2 is The Empire, and that is much harder to read.

I will say though, the construction of the vinyl boxset is awesome! I love it and the huge map that you can actually read is really cool. Love it!

Tbh, I think there are several things that could have been done better with the packaging. Such as not sticking the lyric booklet to the fold-out CD case, so we have to have the whole thing sprawled out in order to read the lyrics, which are not exactly in large-print. Besides a couple of errors in the credits (such as the nonexistent spoken Nafaryus part by Chycki), it would also perhaps have been nice to credit some of the soloists in the album, like the violinist in Hymn of 1000 Voices, the soprano voice in both Act of Faythe and The Walking Shadow, or the bagpiper in The X Aspect.

I agree with that. Nightwish's last album also featured an orchestra and choirs heavily, and every single person is credited - those credits take up 2 full pages of the CD booklet.

In a recent interview, Jordan said that David Campbell plays violin on the intro to a song, so it seems weird he wasn't given that credit (maybe he didn't care for it?). "Hymn of 1000 voices" also features a mandolin player, right?

Let's just say we have a different of opinion on those particular lyrics. Doesn't stop me from enjoying the album though.
