Anyone gives some praises for the melody writing on TA?

I haven't seen a topic dedicated to the amazing vocal melodies on TA. It's indeed unconventionally refreshing to hear Dt breaking out their box. The album just flows, compared to the last album's epic which sounds like pieces forced together. This album is getting close to SFAM in my book. And it's definitely a huge positive change.

Oh hell yeah, are you kidding me!? That's the first thing I noticed, the sheer emphasis on the melody, and how beautifully everything's written. Definitely a treat to listen to.

For me, a lot of DT's past catalogue has been lacking in melody. This is what a lot of non DT fans/haters say about the band, in fact that's what I used to think about them too. Then I rediscovered the band with ADTOE...

I don't think we even need to point out the melodic strengths of this album. It's remarkable.

So catchy and heartfelt!  These songs get stuck in my head even at work. I can't get them out of my head. Even the chorus on New Beginning, kind of has an obscure KANSAS feel to it.. Not my fav track but still good..

Dream Theater were inspired by The Glass Prison's success to make a whole album heavy (Train of Thought). Here's hoping that the melodies of this album will be unanimously praised and will inspire them to make the next album very focused on melodies as well!

There are 7 metric shit-tons of melody on this album.

While I love the melody on the new album, it's getting more into the realm of prog rock.

For the next album I'm actually hoping for a heavier train of thought with intense Mangini drumming to contrast all of the prog rock they've been doing recently. I loved the 2003-04 Dream Theater era with short JP hair and crazy riffs.

It is an absolute joy to listen to this band. They write melodies and harmonies that just hit the spot every time!
