Always loved this song. Still a top 10 DT track for me, but I don't seem to listen to it as much as it deserves if that makes sense.
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

Since you've compared it to the other epics post-SFAM, personally I don't consider it better than Octavarium, Illumination Theory, or Six Degrees - but it is a great song indeed.

I was a fan before I was the admin of this site, so...yeah.  :)

Heck, I even got temp. banned once from the official DT site back in the day.  :lol
Heck, I remember you banning yourself once upon a time.

I love ITPOE, I think it's the saving grace of SC (which I find to be the weakest album with JLB). It's so original and stands out among the other epics, with its evil/fantasy theme. I find myself listening to it quite frequently, and it's always stuck in my head, mainly Pt. 1.

I just wish it wasn't broken up, although it makes sense why they did it.

NoseofNicko

Definitely one of their best songs. So many parts give me goosebumps. I fucking love it! I prefer Octavarium though.

This song it's definitely in my DT top 10. The only part I don't like much is the first minutes of part 2, which starts maybe a bit too slow, but the ending of Part 2 is fantastic.
I prefer Octavarium too even if I listen more to ITPOE, maybe I have to change my ideal ranking  :D
Illumination Theory and The Count Of Tuscany are not in the same league of ITPOE in my opinion, talking about the last album epics

Pragmaticcircus

After The Astonishing has melted into my mind, I gave this another listen and I like 'part 2' more than 'part 1', It has fantastic development in it, this epic deserves another spot in the setlist, come on DT!

Love this track.  A great JLB performance and a song where they take themselves just the right amount of unserious to pull off the outrageous lyrics.

A great track...and I edited the two parts together as it should have been, and I use it to open the album.  Now, opening an album with a 25 minute epic strong song is ballsy....and that's what they failed to do. Thank goodness for the digital world, where we can make things better.
