Well there you go, I added an option for you. :lol

Sacul

Considering JR's love for electronic music, I kinda expected some more elaborate pieces as the NOMAC tracks.

Well, to be fair, I don't think the intention was to make them sound too awesome. Either JP or JR described them as "bad music" or something similar in one of the interviews.

DarkLord_Lalinc

There's one of them that sounds like dubstep that made me go like 'hey, that's kinda cool'.

Can't remember which one, will listen to the album once again tomorrow and I'll vote.

Lucien

The Hovering Sojourn scared the shit out of me while listening to the album, so I'll give it props for that

erwinrafael

I love how the NOMACS appear whenever Daryus has his moments (except Power Down).

jakepriest

They're all a really big disappointment. I actually expected something electronic that would make sense, not just random noises strapped together.
Digital Discord has a really scary start that kinda reminds me of War of Worlds so I'll give it that, but I just skip all the others.

Outcrier

I thought this was a troll thread.

Think it's Digital Discord, that one gets my vote for favourite random noises.

TioJorge

It's a tie for me between Digital Discord and Hovering Sojourn. I gave the vote to HS out of eenie-meanie-minie-moe.

Lucien

Honestly I love all of them. They're just so fucking crazy

they also remind me of half life in multiple ways

TioJorge

Lucien...you and I...we are the same. (Go see my recent post in the TA thread  :lol )

This. I recently listened to some tracks from the soundtrack and I found them to be in a similar spirit, very videogame-y.

Calvin6s

Machine Chatter and then The Hover Sojourn

I really wish they developed one of the NOMAC tracks into an actual full blown song.

ErHaO

I actually really like them.

They do not overstay their welcome and there is a sense of ambient/dubstep to them at times, along with adding to the atmosphere of the album as a whole. In context of the album, I like Hovering Sojourn the most. Not skipping material for me.

I once thought this, then realized that the in the story, the NOMACS were supposed to be the antithesis to music, which actually numbed people into the mindset where they "don't have the time for music anymore and no one seems to care."

Pragmaticcircus

Honestly, I don't remember any of them, they are Segueing tracks anyway

RaasMah

Machine Chatter is the only one that have a sort of rhythm, so I guess its that ;D

They all serve their purpose I think, they arent supposed to be considered as music tracks, but more as interludes. I dont think the band will be offended if we skip them after the first few listens ;)

On that topic, could it be that this is DTs way of showing dissaproval toward dubstep music?

Train of Naught

That's pretty farfetch'd, and I think they are pretty respecting people. But of course there's a chance you could be right  ;D

Machine Chatter or Descent of the Nomacs is probably my favorite.

The Hovering Sojourn was kind of cool!

shredd

I have to say The Hovering Sojourn
It had a really cool sort of feel to it and I knew it was only going to be around 28 seconds long (shortest track ever released by the band) but I actually found myself wanting to hear it for a little bit longer, which is the reason it gets my vote because normally any music like that I completely dislike when I hear it in other contexts, that being said this is DT after all and I really valued all the NOMAC tracks for what they were supposed to be

Peter Griffin

i came here to post this exact poll.

(i love machine chatter).

If he were to create a solo concept album based around this idea, I think that would be intense.  I wouldn't hate it at all...
Following Jakepriest, I love the War of the Worlds feel of Digital Discord, plus it feels like the most adaptive seguing noise machine on the album.

Agreed, at some points on the NOMAC tracks I thought Rudess was gonna pull some amazing aggressive dub step on us, big missed opportunity to go nuts with that.

DragonGuitar

Machine Chatter. Because of the drum beat, makes it more listenable. But I kind of like all of them for how off the wall they are- but I couldn't stand it if they were longer than they are.

I agree with the others that wish JR pulled some more intense dubstep type stuff though.

Pax

Digital Discord is the least voted, and is my favourite, and Machine Chatter is one of my least favourites and is most voted. lol

changing_seasons

Pointless noice imo. Luckily, files can easily be deleted.
