Finally, after 6 or 7 years, DT will finally be playing CT again. That is all.  :metal :metal

I've been to a few shows at the Chevrolet, including 2006 where they played Speak to Me, and the 2007 show. Also saw 311 there a few years ago. I like that place. Glad they're coming back, though I'll most likely only go to the Boston show (as has been the case since 2008).

I was at those two shows, as well as the 2004 show. Love that venue - probably my favorite place that I've seen DT play! Glad to see it listed as the Oakdale Theatre again instead of "the Chevrolet" - I hate that corporate renaming crap. I won't be at that show, but hope everyone who goes enjoys it!   :)
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

No password... go to dreamtheater.net / tour find your date and search for tickets... create an account on CrowdSurge if you don't have one

Awaken

Just picked up 2 tix for Oakdale, so psyched they're coming back to CT!

If any of you need a presale password, it's "covert."
I just got these babies (actually, I screwed up; it's the ones in front of those circled):

Not bad, even compared to the upgrades we got after missing part of PN09 due to getting t-boned by a drugged up teenage skateboarder:

could have gotten better seats today than presale. I knew I shouldn't have even checked. arrrgggg.

Awaken

Kicking myself for buying through the DT Site pre-sale, looking at the seating chart and there are much better seats in the price range available now.  Not sure what the point of that was, but I won't be doing that again.  Still psyched to see them in a few months!

Same here - I've had a feeling this would happen ever since I got them.

Chino

I've seen about a dozen concerts at the Oakdale. I find sitting a little further back from the stage to be better than up close, especially with a band like DT. So. Freaking. Loud.

Awaken

I agree, but there are so many available seats center stage in the section i chose now (same row, too).  Would have preferred them to being all the way to the right, but oh well

Ahhh. Gothcha.

Tick

I would have definitely wanted better seats but section 205 EE is still not bad at all. And if I'm looking for the silver lining it may be cool to be back a bit for sound and visual overall.
Plus my seats are 20 bucks less a piece and less bullshit charges on them.

I NEED TO MAKE MYSELF FEEL BETTER!!! >:(

Awaken

206 EE here!  That was exactly my mindset going into this - wanted to be back a bit to take in the entire production.  I was 3rd row in Hartford for The Wall and while it was amazing, I felt like I missed the bigger production being that close.

Chino

You'll be happy with those seats. I've sat pretty much right where you are a number of times. You're slightly elevated and don't have many heads in front of you.

I'll likely catch at least one show up there. The Wednesdayness of the CT gig makes it challenging to do that and RCMH, so I really don't know what's going to go down. There are still plenty of good seats for Wallington, though. A friend picked up front row yesterday, thus spurring new consideration.

Chino

Very cool. We should all meet at a bar (or gather around in the parking lot with beers) beforehand.

I'll be there! Decision just made easier. Your welcome!  :tup

Hey neat, I'll be a legal adult by the time this show rolls around.
Can't wait to get my GDT account.

Tick

Any pre sale folks get there tickets yet?

Just picked up a great seat to see Martin Barre in Hartford the night after DT. Looking like a pretty good trip at this point. Three concerts in four nights. All in interesting venues, to boot.

If you have never been to the Oakdale you are in for a treat.

Yeah, looks like a nice place. That Infinity Hall up in Hartford looks pretty swank, as well.

The Oakdale is easily my favorite venue in CT. Comfy seats, nice layout, kind of intimate, and awesome acoustics.
