Shitty allusion to QR, the headline could have been soooo much better, original, etc.

Well Bosk hinted that something may be happening this week, then updated us by saying that what was meant to have happened has actually not yet happened. And that's pretty much the week summed up! Still 3 weeks tomorrow we will have those discs of awesomeness in our sweaty palms.

I hope the double cd is a jewel case and not some cardboard thing.

The special edition should be a large NOMAC, and it opens in half, with a disc attached to each inside half.

Kotowboy

The worst case [no pun intended] scenario would be the BC&SL one where it's a super flimsy card sleeve with the discs just chucked in there in 3 cardboard sleeves.

Zydar

I still haven't pre-ordered mine (I need to though, no music store in this town). I'll just go for the regular edition.

This.

I wanted the Vinyl but not for £70 thanks.

Kotowboy

Just ordered from Amazon :) Hopefully i'll get it on release day and if not - I can listen on Spotify anyway.

£9.99 for the CD plus P&P and VAT.

I'm pretty sure when Play.com was around that postage was free on any order...

Maybe that's why they're no longer around ! !

PLAY.COM was teh very first place I ever bought anything off the internet. . . It was the microphone for PS2 for "Music 3000" :)

Zydar

I'm sure there will be an HDTracks version available for purchase too, as with their other RR albums.

I'm not bothered about that this time if the CD sounds good. And noxon and Blob both said it does. At least a lot better than DT12.

Obviously we don't know for sure yet, but the pictures on the :soon: site make it look like it'll be one of those fold-out cardboard covers. If that is the case, I hope at least the booklet is removable. I wanna be able to get it out and read it comfortably.

well... a lot better than dt12 doesn't have to be necessarily good :P
(tgom sounds pretty bad imho - not dt12 level of bad but still pretty bad. /drums particularly/)

It doesn't seem that outrageous when you break it down:
£9.99 for 1 LP
Astonishing is 4 LPs so that's £40, inclusion of a couple posters prolly worth £4 each that's £48. On Amazon it's £60 so it's only expensive by £12. I'd still rather just pay £40 for a no bullshit version though.

Oh, there's nothing worse than glued-on booklets. Why do they do it?

Does anyone here read the magazine Rock Hard France?

Because they have interviewed Petrucci about the new album in the January issue of the magazine.

Throwing a subtle nudge nudge in all general directions.  ;)

Darkstarshades

I can't wait to have it in my hands and give myself pleasure with both discs.

So that's how NOMACs were visualized!  :omg:

Bosk, can you answer this question? Would the album be available on HD Tracks? If so, is there a discount code for that? Hahaha. I remember buying BTFW mere minutes after it appeared on HD TRacks only to know later that there is a discount code. :p Thanks.
I have no idea.  Sorry.

Anyone notice that when you refresh The Astonishing page there's a new image that flashes for a split second?

It only did it once for me, but I think it was the picture used for Along For The Ride in the self-titled album booklet.

Train of Naught

You sure it's not the Along for the Ride artwork that comes up for a split second while the pages loads you're talking about? It's an image of a landscape with a wooden house and a car or something.

EDIT: the bear beat me to it.

I sadly might wait, too.  If it were only $70USD, I'd jump on it, but $100 (and I'm not sure if that includes shipping) seems a little excessive.

Preordered the 2CD set for the time being.

34 tracks... 22 days left.
and only one track released.

No snippets, no preview, no review, no video... nothing.
Only characters and a map...

I'm a little bit disappointed.  :tdwn

An Astonishing Turn of Events

Well Metropolis is track 5 on Images and Words and Bridges In The Sky is track 5 on  ADTOE & seeing as how A Dramatic Turn of Events is the same album - they've gone from Song to album and

instead gone song to double album this time.
